WorkPoint has been recognized by CIOReview Magazine as the recipient of “20 Most Promising SharePoint Solution Providers - 2016,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry. This profile has been developed by the CIOReview research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Peter Jørgensen, CEO.

The Missing Jigsaw in SharePoint’s Puzzle

“Although Microsoft’s SharePoint has been around for many years, most organizations still experience the adversities of large and expensive SharePoint projects, which ultimately fail to fulfill the intended business objectives,” begins Peter Jørgensen, CEO, WorkPoint. While Microsoft has been on a constant quest to improve SharePoint, it continues to be a large and complex toolbox as it demands a lot of effort and time to build business applications. “Today, CIOs are on the lookout for a platform that can allow a SharePoint based application to be built in a matter of weeks, rather than months,” says Jørgensen. “This is exactly what our team at WorkPoint strives to deliver for our valuable customers.” The company builds both standard on-premise and cloud-based solutions atop SharePoint, which are easy to configure and seamlessly integrate with Microsoft’s Office 365, Dynamics NAV, and Dynamics AX as well.

As far as the cloud is concerned, WorkPoint operates with its robust WorkPoint 365 solution, which is a knowledge portal on SharePoint Online. The solution makes it possible for organizations to build business critical applications easily and effectively without involving the need of programming. WorkPoint 365 adds a business layer to SharePoint Online, which enables building modular solutions like project, case, contract, and relations management. The solution is fully scalable and can be tailored to fit specific needs and wishes of different industries. WorkPoint 365 contains a modular structure of lists and websites, hierarchically fitted to one another. The website structure ensures uniformity, creates relations between the modules, as well as inherits and aggregates data in the solution. “This is the reason why WorkPoint 365 is a very structured system, which provides a structured environment for the users to work in,” says Jørgensen, adding that a WorkPoint plug-in enables employees to work directly in Office programs ensuring high adoption.

In one of the instances, NorSea Group, a supplier of logistics solutions to the energy industry, had an outdated document management system, which was unable to integrate with other systems like ERP, CRM, and Office 365.

When we discovered WorkPoint 365, we saw an opportunity to become one of the companies who successfully implement SharePoint solution

Lack of mobility, oversight, and improper management of documents, made NorSea Group to look for a completely new cloud-solution which would seamlessly integrate with Office 365. Consequently, to address these issues, NorSea chose WorkPoint 365, which met all of their overarching requirements. NorSea Group achieved a user-friendly, secure, and uniform method to manage information and documents within the organization. “When we discovered WorkPoint 365, we saw an opportunity to become one of the companies who successfully implement a SharePoint solution. The solution affords us better quality of document management and projects, while helps us in managing everyday work more efficiently,” says Nikolaj Johansen, Project Manager, NorSea Group (IT).

Evidently, the primary driver of WorkPoint’s current and future developments is the WorkPoint 365 product suite. “When we started developing WorkPoint 365, a couple of years ago, we feared that we had missed the train. But still only a year and a half ago, nine out of ten clients requested on-premises solutions,” says Jørgensen. However, today the picture is just the opposite. WorkPoint’s strategy is aligned with Microsoft’s “cloud first, mobile first” initiatives. By 2017, WorkPoint’s partners and clients will be offered a one-code solution which they can choose to deploy on-premise, in the cloud, or as a hybrid solution. “At the same time, we are following new products from Microsoft closely, and investigating how these can be utilized in WorkPoint 365,” concludes Jørgensen.
