Perhaps the biggest of them currently is their work for Discover, part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud offering. Approximately three years ago, Wrecking Ball was engaged with a heavily content-focused website, Create Magazine. Adobe wanted to redesign the entire site which is running on AEM. Reviewing needs and putting project plan in place, Wrecking Ball realized they inherited a messy codebase inherent with problems from other agencies. The company responded by setting up a new team led by Partner and Executive Creative Director, James Begera, and Rhasaun Campbell, former AEM Team Lead at Royal Caribbean and was able to rewrite, optimize and modernize components pushing AEM to its limits. “Soon, the site was generating so much traffic, rich content, and conversion, that we ended up integrating it with the creativecloud.adobe.com website. Today, it is the second largest site in Adobe, and Wrecking Ball’s content/authoring services were at the forefront of product conversion and customer retention,” says Princz.

Wrecking Ball added multiple dynamic components where the call to action could dynamically detect if a user is logged in as well as their entitlements to deliver direct in-app experiences through the website.
The engagement was so successful that some of its design approach and content influences have since been syndicated through multiple Adobe properties and applications. The original site had million-plus users who were reading and exploring the content globally in 19 different languages.

By using AEM as a content hub, Wrecking Ball extended the site from being a base CMS to a global content distribution tool syndicating content across different Adobe properties and surfaces. The content is highly enriched and inspirational serving the needs of novices to expert users, used as a method to retain current customers and inspire potentially new people to use Adobe products serving millions of views monthly.
