Centralizing Data for Data-driven Insights

It’s no secret that information is power. Evidently, highly-integrated, organized, accessible, high-quality data and analytics are quickly becoming a new frontier of competitive differentiation. However, the rubber meets the road when organizations have to upgrade their legacy systems and transition from a traditional relational database to a cloud-based data warehouse. Developers spend days or weeks (depending on number of data sources) writing custom data integration scripts to enrich and consolidate data from disparate sources and loading it into cloud services like NetSuite or vice versa, instead of focusing on their core job—product development. Rising up to this challenge, California-based Xplenty is enabling organizations to move data between cloud and traditional systems to analytics engines such as Amazon Redshift or Google BigQuery, allowing customers to power their tools with the data they need.

Xplenty delivers one of the most advanced data integration platforms that helps to design and execute data pipelines seamlessly. The platform enables organizations to import, process, and prepare data for analytics on the cloud. “Our cloud-based ETL platform makes it easy for customers to import their data, transform, normalize or cleanse the data if necessary, and then send it to their data warehouse. Once it is in the data warehouse, a data visualization tool can then be used to make data-driven business decisions,” says Donal Tobin, GM, Xplenty.

Xplenty’s platform provides simple, visualized data pipelines to ensure that businesses can quickly analyze their data and collect insights without investing in any additional software or hardware. From simple data replication to complex data preparation and transformation jobs, Xplenty covers all use cases with a point-and-click, drag-and-drop, interface. For more advanced use cases, Xplenty’s Workflow feature allows users to build dependencies on a series of data pipelines. For example, a pipeline can only be executed if the previous pipeline ran successfully. Xplenty’s wide array of data sources—Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Facebook Ad Insights, NetSuite to name a few—allows users to instantly import data onto the Xplenty platform. For data sources not supported natively by Xplenty, their REST API connection provides the option to import data from any source that has a REST API. “We are not limited to certain data sources; the platform can pull data from any source that has a REST API. Our powerful transformation tools help customers to easily modify the data and cleanse it before they send it to their destinations,” explains Tobin.

Our cloud-based ETL platform provides simple visualized data pipelines for automated data flows across a wide range of sources and destinations

To harness the potential of Xplenty, the first step is to establish connections to all the data sources. When the connections are established, data is imported onto the platform and then transformed if necessary. The platform has about 150 prebuilt transformation tools that allow modifying of the data as per customer requirements. “Our platform’s clean and easy to use UI allows both developers and non-developers to import all of their data and build data pipelines,” says Tobin.

When it comes to the onboarding processes, Xplenty shortens the learning curve by delivering a one-to-one demo and pipeline setup session to the client, walking them through the platform, and getting their first pipeline set up. “We have an in-depth understanding of every company’s need for business intelligence. Our goal is to minimize the time that teams spend preparing data, allowing them to focus on analyzing their data and making data-driven decisions,” Tobin adds.

Looking ahead, Xplenty sees a growing demand for data compliant pipelines. “With the introduction of GDPR and with CCPA coming into effect in 2020, companies now have to be very careful of what data they are storing and in what state. We have built out data compliant transformation tools which help companies to mask and hash PII,” explains Tobin.

Over the years, Xplenty has been a game changer, allowing companies across all industries to gain faster insights from their data. In the long run, the company’s vision is to make it easier for customers to visualize their data. “We are currently a data integration platform but we plan on being able to provide our customers with data insights too, providing customers with a full 360-degree view of their companies,” concludes Tobin.
