Given today’s rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape, the security of organizational data, applications, networks, and critical business processes has become the top priority for CISOs and IT teams. Unfortunately, owing to the rapid growth of cybercrimes both in complexity and frequency, they cannot just rely on traditional cybersecurity solutions and methodologies. The situation necessitates businesses to implement a robust cybersecurity resilience strategy—the ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from cyberattacks and data breaches. It also enables an organization to seamlessly conduct everyday business operations without any interruption during and after disruptive events such as cyberattacks or technical failures.

Helping SMEs and enterprises in this effort is Assured Data Protection—a data management, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions provider. The company has teamed up with Rubrik, a market leader in cloud data management, to deliver Rubrik as a Service (RaaS). It helps users unify backup, recovery, analytics, and compliance. “Rubrik’s suite of products is evolving and improving every day. We’re pleased to bring their tools to the market as a managed service provider,” prides Stacy Hayes, Managing Director (Americas), at Assured Data Protection.

By collaborating with Rubrik, Assured operationalizes and delivers a simple-touse, cost-effective, and scalable portfolio of technologies to help IT departments streamline their daily workflow. Rubrik, in addition to its standard backup software, has three additional solutions for helping businesses become cyber resilient. The first on the list is Polaris Radar that leverages machine learning to monitor and generate suspicious activity alerts to help clients detect anomalies and increase resiliency against ransomware. Secondly, Polaris Sonar scans and classifies sensitive data using pre-built policy templates to identify common data types from regulations and standards, including GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and GLBA. The next one is AppFlows—a SaaSbased application—that simplifies disaster recovery failover/failback and testing for business services running in VMW are and vSphere environments. “Stringing these tools together, organizations can have a surgical, automated, and precise capability of disaster recovery and ran somware attack identification as well as remediation,” adds Hayes.

Alongside Rubrik, Assured has partnered with Confluera, a pioneer in the cybersecurity detection and response/ remediation space. Their XDR solution offers an offensive capability that identifies the presence of both external and internal threat actors based on their behavior over time in a specific environment. “Confluera leverages the MITRE ATT&CK® framework to mitigate cyberattacks before they can do any harm,” clarifies Hayes.

As a true managed services provider, Assured has garnered numerous clients from various industries over the years. For instance, Assured had partnered with Prater, UK’s leading specialist contractor, to address the latter’s lengthy recovery times and difficult-to-use UI of an aging Windows 95 interface-based software. Working in liaison with Prater, Assured offered RaaS to automate the client’s policies, aligning them with compliance requirements. Assured also eliminated their tape backup, cloud-native architecture, and improved disaster recovery to complement Prater’s push to a modern approach. As a result, the client successfully reduced their RTO to a near-zero and significantly saved and managed their time.

Such instances of client success give Assured the impetus to grow. In fact, the company has initiated strategic collaborations with Dropsuite (a global cloud backup provider) and AvePoint (the largest Microsoft 365 data management solutions provider). In the upcoming years, Assured plans to expand its footprint geographically by joining hands with more partners. “We are all set to expand our business, grow the subscriber base further, and add more services to make more businesses resilient against complicated cyberattacks,” concludes Hayes.

Assured Appoints Paul Dix as CFO to Drive Strategic Growth

Assured Data Protection (Assured), the prominent IT managed services provider for cloud data protection solutions, announced the recent appointment of Paul Dix as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

WASHINGTON and LEEDS, England-- Washington DC, US, and Leeds, UK – Assured Data Protection (Assured), the prominent IT managed services provider for cloud data protection solutions, announced the recent appointment of Paul Dix as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

In his new role, Dix will work closely with Assured Founders Simon Chappell and Stacy Hayes and the leadership team to build scalable processes, drive strategic decision making, and help support the business globally through its next phase of growth.

As cyber threats, including ransomware attacks continue on an upward trend, Assured is seeing increased demand for its managed backup, disaster and cyber recovery services. Customers span a wide range of commercial segments, including financial services, legal, pharmaceuticals and the public sector. Assured manages 400+ customer sites in more than 40 countries. Customers receive a fully managed Rubrik service from design and implementation through to recovery and daily proactive support. Assured received Rubrik's Global Partner Award for MSP Partner of the Year in 2023.

Dix brings over 15 years of finance experience to Assured, most recently serving as CFO of Crisp, a risk intelligence technology company based in Leeds that he helped support through a period of significant high growth before it was acquired by Kroll in 2022.

Phil Daveran has also been hired as Head of Software Development, a new role focused on continued innovation that reduces the labor intensity of disaster recovery through increased automation.
