It’s not uncommon today, even for a small business, to have hundreds of different SaaS applications deployed to help manage and operate their business. However, this wasn’t the case a decade ago. In 2007, when Geeman Yip decided to quit his job at Microsoft and found BitTitan, the cloud was in its infancy. People had little clue about the cloud, and those who knew it had security, cost, and vendor lock-in concerns. However, Geeman envisioned that eventually the IT landscape is going to shift to the cloud, and so he decided to help people move to it when they were ready. BitTitan was founded to help IT professionals assess, deploy, and manage migrations, in both cloud and on-premises instances, through automation.

The conventional methods of migrating between cloud and on-premises involved buying a license, building servers, and installing software, which took anywhere between a few hours to a few days. Downtimes added to this tedious process, slowing it even more. Cloud migration was pretty much an unexplored field until BitTitan made its entry. The company provides an agile medium for the process of migrating mailboxes, documents, archives, and public folders of all different workloads. “The migration process of BitTitan, which works across platforms like Office 365, GSuite, and on-premises installations, can be started as quickly as 15 minutes after a log-in and the procedure is fast with zero downtime, while the work is also close to your location,” says Mark Kirstein, Vice President of Products, BitTitan.

To help people move to the cloud from on-premises installations, BitTitan built MigrationWiz in 2009. “MigrationWiz is a 100-percent SaaS-based, fully automated migration tool that allows businesses to migrate to and from any given platform. Whether it is GSuite or Office 365, the application is equally capable in both the migration scenarios,” says Kirstein.

BitTitan also recently launched Voleer, a new IT automation platform, which offers a marketplace of templates for managing cloud applications including security assessments and cost optimization.

Any product’s reliability can be truly realized only when it is put to the test. BitTitan’s prowess can be better valued by the success of its customers. Agrei Consulting wanted to move around 40,000 mailboxes and other user data for an international conglomerate. The transfer included 200 terabytes of Google Drive data and 300 terabytes of archives. BitTitan was chosen to complete a task that seemed insurmountable. Nevertheless, BitTitan was not only successful in moving the data but also completed the task well before the anticipated timeline, thanks to its automatable work process. Similarly, Blue Chip Consulting, an IT firm, was able to leverage BitTitan’s MigrationWiz solution to successfully migrate a Fortune 1000 enterprise’s global workforce with 9,000 mailboxes. Blue Chip managed to complete the task within a couple of weeks with reduced manual labor costs and minimized deployment times. “MigrationWiz is the Swiss Army knife of migration tools,” says Ryan Folge, Solution Architect of Blue Chip Consulting Group. BitTitan’s esteemed client roster also includes ODM Computers from Spain and Synergy Technical, among others.

The focus of BitTitan right now lies on expanding much more into the premises of GSuite.
