Driving the Future of Remote Working

Bluescape Software

Peter Jackson, CEO
As 2021 nears its halfway point, it’s clear that the impacts of the pandemic on the workplace are far from over. Indeed, as companies around the world scramble to prepare for the “new normal” – and the many pressures that come along with it – many are turning to remote and hybrid working models to ease the transition. In fact, recent reports estimate that a staggering 70 percent of the workforce will be working remotely or in a hybrid environment at least five days a month by 2025, showcasing the incredible power of virtual collaboration in the years to come.

To truly leverage this opportunity, however, no longer will simple video conferencing solutions fit the bill. On the contrary, distributed teams need to be able to visualize and collaborate with multiple pieces of content all at once – allowing employees to seamlessly brainstorm ideas, plan projects, and collect feedback from the comfort of their own homes. What’s more, given the increasing role of cybersecurity in today’s ever-changing business landscape, it’s more important than ever before for companies to protect sensitive information as it travels through various devices – making both scalability and security critical factors in any hybrid work strategy.

Enter Bluescape Software, a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider that enables hybrid and remote teams to collaborate within a central digital workspace – while avoiding the security and compatibility headaches that often come with remote work. Using Bluescape, employees can more easily see the big picture and improve decisions and results across internal meetings, external presentations, training, and hiring. “As business leaders consider the future of work, it’s clear that video conferencing and ‘screen-showing’ tools are a thing of the past,” says Peter Jackson, CEO, Bluescape Software. “That’s why we have designed a complete end-to-end platform that enables remote teams to work together as if they were in the same room, propelling productivity by sharing ideas, files, and plans in a more efficient and secure way.”

The Bluescape platform has been designed from the ground up with customers in mind, allowing companies to choose between multiple deployment options based on what best meets their needs. “Bluescape isn’t just a software, it’s a solution for companies conducting business in the new normal. Our teams have worked tirelessly to build a virtual collaboration tool that goes far beyond outdated screen-sharing technologies, turning our dream for remote working into reality,” says Jackson.

The One-stop-shop for Collaboration

Bluescape Software allows individuals to compare and cross-reference content, view images, videos, documents, and applications side-by-side, and aggregate proposals and timelines next to concepts, designs, budgets, and plans. Moreover, Bluescape users can also integrate their proprietary applications into the platform using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

Bluescape Software provides users with a one-stop-shop that addresses all the collaboration needs of modern-day businesses

By consolidating multiple different functions into one, easy-touse platform, Bluescape eliminates confusion and promotes transparency – enabling anyone involved in a given project to see its scope, timelines, and status in real-time.

“Our solution is a one-stop-shop that addresses all the collaboration needs of modern-day businesses,” says David Kung, Director of Product Marketing, Bluescape Software. “In fact, according to a recent study we commissioned, Bluescape can help businesses to reduce their project times by 20 percent and meeting times by 15 percent.”

Of course, it’s worth noting that Bluescape Software promotes a “securityfirst” philosophy and alleviates concern over security breaches that occur when employees are working remotely. In fact, the Bluescape platform is embedded with encryption, so your data is secure no matter where your employees are working.

“We believe in the concept of building a secure container that runs on our platform.” Jackson continues, “In doing so, we believe we can provide companies with necessary assurances that their employee data is protected without fear of third-party infiltration.”

The Bluescape platform allows business leaders to set user roles and permissions, which can be customized easily according to their organizational needs– whether they add a new hire or when an employee resigns. In essence, the platform is more than just an online whiteboard with presentation and annotation capabilities. Now, using Bluescape, clients can upload and synchronize playback of videos, co-browse web content, video chat, and more – all in one secure, virtual workspace.

A Diverse Client Portfolio

Today, Bluescape proudly serves a variety of renowned and established global entities, including Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, higher education institutions, and media and entertainment leaders. As one notable example, over the past three years, the company has been working with Ford to help them facilitate more collaborative decision-making processes, including executive, marketing, and charity decisions.

And that’s not all. The company is also collaborating with the Department of Defense (DoD) to help them efficiently share files across teams. In this field, sensitive information needs to be securely shared among teams that are both on the ground and in the control room. Thankfully, Bluescape’s virtual work platform meets all federal Authority To Operate (ATO) security controls and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements – allowing the DoD to collaborate with efficiency, accuracy, and with confidence in their cybersecurity infrastructure.

“As part of our collaboration with the DoD, we at Bluescape are striving to help the department collaborate and share critical information, such as images, between individuals while working remotely,” adds Kung. “This is the perfect example of a hybrid environment. Using Bluescape, the DoD can now confidently share high-resolution image files through a fully encrypted platform, ensuring that necessary information can be sent virtually to those who need it most.”

An Enabling Culture at its Core

In many ways, Bluescape’s success can be attributed to its comprehensive culture of collaboration. As a fully remote organization, the company was founded upon a belief that employee well-being and mental health are of paramount importance. That’s why even during the pandemic, the company has been able to operate with the highest level of efficiency – consequently ensuring customer satisfaction at every step of the way.

"At Bluescape, we have designed a complete end-to-end platform that enables remote teams to work together as if they were in the same room, propelling productivity by sharing ideas, files, and plans in a more efficient and secure way"

To maintain employee morale and increase productivity, Bluescape sends regular anonymous surveys in order to better understand employee perspectives about the future of the company. “We have created an inclusive environment throughout our organization, where team members feel part of our long-term goals and are inspired to charge the future of the workplace. We are all truly a family at Bluescape,” Jackson adds.

The Road Ahead

With a keen eye toward the breakthrough innovations of tomorrow, Bluescape is heading toward a promising future, focusing on low-code and no-code development. In pursuit of this goal, Jackson mentions that every business today needs to be able to share proprietary applications with employees to facilitate collaboration. Unfortunately, this is often easier said than done, requiring a significant investment and the presence of expert developers. Accordingly, Bluescape aims to upgrade its platform so that clients can instantly turn their platforms into shareable apps. “We’re going to have a platform where developers can put their applications into Bluescape, which then instantly become shareable apps that can be used to iterate, change, and update,” Jackson informs.

In a nutshell, Bluescape Software enables employees to collaborate on mission-critical information in real time – without needing to be in the same place in order to do so. Using this unique technology, teams can now better visualize their workflows and identify areas of focus faster than traditional methods. This is, in many ways, the future of the workplace. As the world continues to move toward a hybrid work model, Bluescape Software is well-positioned to support companies at every step of the way. “We believe we’re going to change the way people use technology in a single pane of glass,” concludes Jackson.

Bluescape®, a visual collaboration and online whiteboard platform, announced an agreement with Arrow Electronics’ public sector business, immixGroup, to bring its Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorized virtual workspace to defense, intelligence, and federal civilian customers through the immixGroup network of partners and contract vehicles.

Bluescape recently achieved FedRAMP Authorization at the Moderate Impact Level, as well as a DISA IL-4+ authorization for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) through a sponsorship of the U.S. Air Force. This is the only visual collaboration solution to achieve both designations.

immixGroup is a leading public sector value-added distributor that helps technology companies do business with the government.
