2018 was an innovational year for Burwood Group as it announced that it was a part of the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) team, which was awarded a $ 77 million IT services contract by the County of Orange. Burwood Group is in charge of redesigning the County’s voice environment, which includes the design, implementation, and management of the County’s upcoming infrastructure. To help the County of Orange achieve its long-term, strategic technology goals, the Burwood team will work alongside SAIC to help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the County and enhance the services received by its constituents and businesses.
Burwood Group serves local, national, and international clients, and works to ensure an optimal fit for each client. One of its clients, Scott County’s technology team recognized that its aging Citrix environment impacted government workers with delayed login times, image update processes, and other production concerns. The IT team sought out Burwood Group’s assistance for the development of a new virtual desktop and delivery platform that would improve stability and the user experience while optimizing the budget. Burwood Group allocated the project according to budget into assessment, design, and implementation phases to accommodate the IT team’s planning preferences. After due evaluation of the data center’s current state, the company recommended a phased parallel migration to Citrix’s XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6 for desktop virtualization. The XenApp platform can support data center performance and helps support new productivity-enhancing tools. Putting to good use its preferred vendor alliance with Citrix, Burwood Group negotiated Scott County’s new licenses and repurposed the savings into Citrix Workspace Suite’s tools and benefits. After designing and building the new parallel infrastructure and Citrix environment, the company administered a phased migration to minimize downtime and end-user dissatisfaction. Burwood Group equipped Scott County’s technology team with the tools and infrastructure to handle new use cases and the capacity to serve additional departments. The IT team now has the capability to pilot the new environment with detailed documentation and training from Burwood Group in best practices for virtual desktop and application delivery management.
With longstanding experience, Burwood Group has exhibited the highest level of expertise and commitment to the entire Citrix portfolio of products as a core part of its business and has proven its ability to create a well-established Citrix practice, working closely with Citrix on sales, implementation, and consulting engagements. Burwood's non-stop growth directly correlates with its strong commitment to client success. The company prides itself in being trusted business advisors to clients by providing smarter solutions that deliver better outcomes.
