Chris Cavanaugh

EVP and CMO, Freeman

Chris Cavanaugh is Chief Marketing Officer for Freeman. He previously served as Executive Vice President, Brand Strategy &Business Insights for FreemanXP, anexperiential marking agency within the greater Freeman organization. He founded freemanXP to meet the strategic demands of a changing market place by connect individuals and brands in ways that create transformational change on a global scale.  FreemanXP has since gone on to become the largest global experience marketing agency in the industry.

Chris started in corporate communications at the JCPenney Company where he was an Executive Producer and writer for the Office of the Chairman. Chris started as a Producer and quickly become the Director of Production and then Managing Director for Jack Morton’s New York Office. He was later named to the company’s Executive Committee and eventually became the Chief Growth Officer for Morton, working across the global agency on organic and new business growth and development.

Chris brings a wealth of industry experience to Freeman. His expertise includes strategic planning, creative development, organizational development, CRM, agency leadership, sales channel optimization, talent acquisition and financial management, in everything from traditional and digital & social media strategies, to live events and targeted experiential marking programs.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Elizabethtown College and has won numerous awards including multiple Telly and Communicator Awards, and he is a Cable ACE Award nominee.
