Rob Lloyd is a leading executive with experience spanning the technology, government, and utilities sectors. His teams have earned 16 national awards for applied technologies, customer engagement, and innovative programs.
As CIO for the City of Avondale, Rob directs the City’s diverse portfolio. His department supports all technology projects and operations across the organization, covering public works, police, fire, utilities, economic development, family services, parks and recreation, libraries, development, and engineering services. In 2013, 2014, and 2015, the City of Avondale was named the #1 Digital City in the nation for its population group—the first time a city sustained that level of achievement.
Contributing to his profession and industry, Rob serves on multiple advisory and governing boards, including for the Midmarket CIO Forum, Arizona Technology Summit, Arizona Digital Government Summit, Phoenix CIO Executive Leadership Summit, Maricopa Association of Governments, Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center, and Adopt Technologies. He is the current president of AZCIO, the municipal IT leadership association for Arizona. His civic activities include service with United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and as a Girl Scouts of America Gold Award mentor.
Rob completed his undergraduate degree at Beloit College and earned his MBA from the University of Colorado. Additionally, he has professional certificates from Stanford University and Colorado State University.
