WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Founded by a group of audit industry veterans, Cygna Labs’ wealth of knowledge and experience has provided it with a unique opportunity to build an audit platform for organizations that use hybrid systems from the ground up. As opposed to many other audit vendors who currently have legacy on-prem audit systems, the Cygna Auditor platform was designed from the beginning for the hybrid world. This includes a modern, simple-to-use web-based UI that provides organizations with unique control over their own data—the platform’s role-based access control (RBAC) with scoping allows organizations to control which users have access to the important data; it does this by designating specific users to only perform the desired actions on the data that is required for them to do their job. Further, the Cygna Identity feature provides the ability to combine multiple user accounts from multiple data sources to a single, fast searchable identity.
BECAUSE IT IS YOUR DATA
One of the key aspects of the Cygna Auditor solution is that it allows customers to fully control their audit data. This provides organizations the ability to choose how long they wish to keep their audit information in either on-prem databases or in their cloud tenant, ensuring that data residency or regulatory compliance mandates are met. “Cygna Auditor simplifies the auditing process. Not only does it gather all the relevant audit information into a single view, but it also allows you to analyze multiple sources such as on-prem AD and Azure AD into one searchable audit view,” says Therburg. “We translate raw audit data into a human-readable format and we can send the human-readable, enriched events to SIEM systems like for example Splunk.
No wonder that thirty percent of the 10 top retailers listed in the NFR Top 50 Global Retailers 2021 ranking are using Cygna as their solution for on-prem Active Directory as well as Azure/Microsoft 365 auditing. One of many examples of the company’s commitment to customers is Migros, a retailer in Switzerland. The Cygna solutions not only cover key Microsoft technologies but have also expanded to other core infrastructure systems such as VMware and will soon be supporting multi-cloud solutions with AWS. The Cygna solution is constantly evolving with platform enhancements such as database segmentation which will allow organizations to accumulate and work with larger volumes of datasets across multiple databases served into a single user interface. Cygna Labs Completes Acquisition of Nokia’s VitalQIP, Positioning the Company as the Second-Largest Global DDI Vendor

MIAMI: Cygna Labs, a highly specialized software manufacturer with a focus on providing enterprises worldwide with the latest innovations in DDI, cloud security, and compliance technology, announced today that it completed its previously announced acquisition of Nokia’s VitalQIP, on March 31, 2023. VitalQIP will be integrated into Cygna Lab’s DDI business, where it will remain an independent product line.
This acquisition positions Cygna Labs’ as one of the top two global DDI vendors by market share. Many Fortune 100 customers rely on the company’s ongoing innovations to provide insight and security into cloud and hybrid environments.

Wishing you a happy New Year! May all your resolutions come to fruition. As a network engineer, your primary professional goal might involve meeting or surpassing network service levels in terms of availability and performance. The foundation of network resilience and stability lies in essential DHCP-DNS-IPAM (DDI) network services. These services automate IP address assignments through DHCP or API, enabling seamless navigation and service chaining through DNS.
The subpar performance or unavailability of a specific IP service can negatively impact its users, while any instability in DDI could affect all your network and cloud applications. Strengthening your DDI infrastructure becomes crucial to realizing this overarching service level goal. However, in the face of today's escalating network complexity and stagnant or decreasing staff levels, achieving this goal is becoming increasingly challenging.
Moving beyond automation
Automation and API integration of DDI functions can help in streamlining manually initiated provisioning or management tasks across your multi-domain network landscape. Cygna Labs DDI solutions currently offer a GUI-based workflow creation and management system as well as API integrations with ServiceNow, Cisco DNA Center, Terraform, and several others. Since DDI tasks comprise key elements within broader IT tasks such as VPC subnet provisioning, server instantiation, or even publication of email policies, the integration of these tasks into broader workflows saves time and reduces errors.
But there is an opportunity to go even further. As part of the ITU’s Network 2030 initiative, the concept of intent-based or intent-driven networking strives to approach the utopia of self-managing networks. This would be achieved not only through the automated provisioning of desired “intents,” but also through ongoing monitoring of the network with respect to the intent, and the triggering of automated tasks to initiate or modify networking configurations to adjust the network to better align with the intent over time.
Self-managing DDI
Cygna Labs is currently experimenting with the application of intent-driven networking to DDI components. As mentioned, we already offer several integrations and rich REST APIs to automate DDI provisioning. We are incorporating a feedback monitoring loop with AI-driven analytics to facilitate proactive and predictive DDI changes in accordance with DDI intents. Our goal is to enable customers to express DDI based intents, which our intent-driven DDI (I3DI) system would manage via provisioning, monitoring, analyzing, and adjusting DDI configurations accordingly.
Our I3DI system will also provide REST endpoints of its own to enable its incorporation into broader network-level intent-driven network solutions. This will enable network engineers to express network-wide intents leveraging our I3DI system to automate the monitoring and management of DDI elements. True to our hallmark of flexibility, this architecture provides the flexibility of expressing either DDI-specific or network-wide intents, both leveraging the robust DDI systems from the experts at Cygna Labs.
