From Bethlehem to the Metaverse: SN1 Brings Data to Life

Kurt Jackson, Owner of SCS and SN1

Kurt Jackson, owner of long-time publishing systems supplier Software Consulting Services, LLC (SCS), announced the creation of a new start-up – SN1, LLC.

SN1 will specialize in data visualization utilizing 2D and 3D modeling, along with the development of native XREAL, Meta Quest and Vision Pro applications. SN1 opened its office on February 1, 2024, in Bethlehem, PA, within walking distance of SCS’s headquarters. Product development has been underway at SCS for over a year and will be moved to SN1 by mid-summer 2024.

The new SN1 office includes a 12ft by 4.5ft “control center” display, three 55 inch displays along with an 85 inch monitor to display visualizations, animations and views as the applications develop. The office serves as a showroom for the cutting-edge technology. SCS utilizes SN1 technology to monitor its own software and server performance at over 200 of its customer locations.

Both SCS and SN1 place a high value on hands-on summer internships. The internship program is an integral part of both the SCS and SN1 company cultures.

SN1 will initially focus its data visualization efforts in 3 areas. The first is real-time and virtual system monitoring utilizing Mass Data Analysis (MDA) and Predictive Analysis (PA). The second will focus on data visualization utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) headsets including Meta Quest and Vision Pro for workflow observation and management. The third will be content distribution with content sourced from traditional publishing media organizations.

“SN1 will be the deployment platform for any publishing customer’s content into the spatial and virtual reality environments,” says Jackson. “Part of SN1’s mission is to augment the traditional distribution methodology of vetted news content. Distribution of curated and vetted news must be extended into augmented reality and virtual reality platforms.”

Both SCS and SN1 place a high value on hands-on summer internships. The internship program is an integral part of both the SCS and SN1 company cultures.

SN1 seeks up to 9 high school or college computer science and animation interns for the summer of 2024. These interns will have the opportunity to work with talented and experienced software development professionals while getting a look into how a software development business, as well as a startup, function. As SN1 is a small company, the interns will be able to work with members through all levels of the company, and apply their ideas to products in use by customers today.

This internship will provide applicants the chance to work in a highly collaborative environment, and form relationships with their fellow interns, while also accelerating their professional development.  Please visit https://www.sn1.live/internship-form.html to learn more.
