Kanguru Defender SEDs

In early 2024, Kanguru continues to lead the data security industry with the introduction of internal, self-encrypting SSDs for tablets, laptops and PCs.  These hardware-based, secure AES 256-Bit, self-encrypting drives (SEDs) offer significant advantages over software-based encryption platforms.  Since Kanguru hardware encrypted SEDs incorporate the encryption independently into the hardware and not just specific files or folders, Kanguru Defender SEDs eliminate the performance bottlenecks and risks typically associated with software encryption solutions.   Defender SEDs automatically lock themselves when powered off, making the data stored within as well as the Operating System completely inaccessible. Digitally-Signed, Secure Firmware

In addition to its state-of-the-art encryption products, Kanguru has pioneered a wide range of both encrypted and non-encrypted devices featuring digitally-signed, secure firmware. Secure firmware is a distinctive feature apart from encryption which protects data storage devices from being exploited as a vehicle for malware attacks.  It self-checks to verify the device’s identity each time it is plugged in, addressing a critical vulnerability present in all USB peripherals, including printers, keyboards, webcams, computer mice and low-quality memory sticks.
