Intiva Health
Not Just Software, but an Entire Ecosystem

Intiva Health

John Hartigan, Co-Founder & EVP, Strategic Development
The US healthcare industry is plagued by inefficiency. These problems drive up administrative costs for institutions and medical costs for patients. Intiva Health (Intiva) developed a software ecosystem specifically designed to eliminate the administrative inefficiencies in the verification process for licensed medical professionals. With Intiva, medical facilities can more quickly and efficiently communicate and facilitate critical administrative tasks from within its secure and private environment.

Using decentralized ledger technology (DLT), Intiva improves the way physicians, nurses, hospitals, medical groups, and other medical organizations interact and share information, specifically with credentials.

Because Physicians are often attached to multiple facilities and must maintain credentials at each facility they serve, managing the upkeep of these documents takes valuable time and effort in the verification process. Intiva’s Ready Doc™, a key component in the Intiva ecosystem for managing verified credentials and licenses, enables Physicians to own their data to provide medical facilities with permission to access it when necessary.

“We’ve found the average time to verify a physician’s credentials takes 3 months. That translates to $360,000 in lost revenue for a hospital,” says John Hartigan, co-founder and executive vice president. “We’re solving a multi-billion dollar problem with the Intiva Health platform.”

Intiva differs from other software models in that the platform was designed to work as an entire ecosystem for the healthcare system at large. The platform is completely free for physicians and hospitals and offers a wide range of features including credential management, a learning management system for continuing medical education, HIPAA compliant communication systems, a career and jobs portal, and a marketplace. The ecosystem is built on Hashgraph technology, which is 50,000 times faster than blockchain. Soon, users will be able to earn TIVA™, the platform’s native cryptocurrency.

The Intiva ecosystem meets the career management needs of today’s medical professionals. Doctors and nurses can manage their certifications, documents, and licenses in one place. Built-in alerts help them know with certainty if a document has expired or needs to be updated. By mitigating their compliance risks, medical professionals can focus on managing staff and caring for patients. Intiva also offers continuing medical education courses, so medical professionals can update and manage all of their requirements right from the platform.

Also within the Intiva ecosystem is a HIPAA-compliant messaging system that takes a lot of pressure off medical facilities and their staff. This is an extremely sensitive area for healthcare providers who need to communicate quickly, while still observing regulatory requirements. Breaches are expensive and potentially devastating to both facilities and the individual providers. Fully encrypted and compliant with all federal laws, Intiva’s Connect feature enables medical professionals to coordinate care, communicate with other providers, and send x-rays, photos, videos, and other forms of patient information to labs, testing facilities, or insurance companies without risk.

One of Intiva’s earliest clients, Austin Emergency Center is an Austin, Texas based ambulatory care center with 4 locations and more than 150 providers. Prior to using Intiva, the urgent care provider’s administrative team had to manually manage credential packages that included licenses, insurance information and much more. Each medical professional, whose credential package contained as many as 30+ documents each, had to provide updated documentation for each location. Since adopting Intiva, Austin Emergency can now view all its provider’s credentials in a central dashboard, making it easy to quickly determine the status of their team’s ability to provide care.

“The Intiva credentialing solution will make verifying the credentials and reputations of my doctors and nurses much faster and easier,” said Jody Hardy, director of physician and patient relations at Austin Emergency Center. “Because credentialing is just part of what I do, I can use the help.”

For clinical communications with providers in other offices, the team at Austin Emergency Center previously had to send private patient information by mail to ensure HIPAA compliance. With Intiva’s Connect feature, physicians can now digitally communicate with labs, insurance companies, testing facilities, and even patients—all while remaining HIPAA compliant. The technology has enabled the urgent care facility to communicate faster and reduce the time and costs associated with patient care.

With a growing portfolio of clients that now includes the American Heart Association and other national organizations, Intiva is quickly becoming an integral component in healthcare technology.

Although originally designed for healthcare, the Intiva platform is flexible, highly scalable, and suitable for entry into other verticals. Intiva has recently secured a partnership with the state of Nebraska for an education-focused solution. In addition to healthcare and education, Intiva has future plans to penetrate the financial, accounting, architecture, engineering, and legal segments.
