For a long time, the pursuit of a truly immersive virtual reality experiences has been challenged by various historical obstacles. From limited computational capacity and unstable internet connectivity, to uncomfortable and complex-to-use devices, we have faced barriers that have hindered the full realization of this vision.

We are, however, in an exciting moment where computational capacity is becoming increasingly powerful, the internet is becoming faster and more stable, and devices are becoming more comfortable and practical for continuous use. We are on the cusp of a new era AR and VR are ready to break through these historical limitations and offer a truly convincing and engaging experience to users.

With a world interconnected by super reliable fibers, the expansion of wave spectrums in 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 radiofrequency technologies, and the promising trend of graphene replacing silicon, we are witnessing the era of supercomputers that do not overheat, miniaturized in nanotechnology. Additionally, virtual reality contact lenses, new graphic creation engines, and powerful generative AI are putting the finishing touches on this technological revolution.

Virtual and Augmented Reality will only Become a Real Option When they Solve a Problem or Meet a Societal need. Until now, these technologies have mainly focused on creating temporary distracting environments or trying to create non-existent needs, with unrealistic avatars and environments that resemble low-resolution video games. It may seem like we are talking about fiction, but if we look historically, the film 'A Trip to the Moon' was released in 1902, and 67 years later, we set foot on the moon. Now, we are talking about going to Mars in the 2030s, and this time it will be a stable and viable journey.

  The near future holds an exciting era of immersive experiences and innovative solutions that will continue to positively impact our society. 

The movie 'Tron' was released in 1987, already depicting the subject, when the idea began to emerge in the 1960s, researchers and visionaries started exploring the potential of this immersive technology. Since then, virtual reality has been the subject of continuous research, experimentation, and evolution, with significant advancements in recent decades. However, it is only in recent years that we have seen a broader adoption and greater integration of virtual reality in various fields, from gaming and entertainment to education, healthcare, and corporate training.

Currently, VR still presents limitations compared to real reality. While in real life, we interact with unique individuals who are highly variable and influenced by their contexts and experiences, in virtual environments, we often encounter repetitive robots and highly limited scenarios. This lack of variability and surprise can result in a less engaging and stimulating experience.

As we progress, however, in the development of AI and approach more human-like adaptive responses, the story begins to change. The ability of AI to respond more closely to humans can bring a new dimension to the virtual experience, making it richer and more personalized.

Nevertheless, there is still a challenge to be faced: identifying which virtual experiences can offer a real advantage over real experiences. What will be the distinctive element that will make virtual reality a preferred choice in certain situations? Will it be the ability to create impossible environments in real life? Or the ability to experience something safely and free from consequences? These are important questions to be explored as we seek to uncover the full potential of virtual reality.

As we rapidly advance in the field of VR and AR, we can expect revolutionary new solutions soon. These technologies have the potential to completely transform various areas of society, providing immersive and interactive experiences like never before.

In the field of education, VR and AR will further expand their applications, offering increasingly realistic simulations in areas such as medicine, aviation, engineering, and manufacturing. Professionals will be able to acquire practical skills safely and efficiently, reducing risks and costs associated with traditional training.

In the field of health, VR will continue to play an important role in assisting the treatment of mental disorders, such as phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder. Additionally, AR will provide real-time information during surgical procedures, helping doctors make more precise decisions and improving patient outcomes.

In the architecture sector, AR will continue to enable the visualization of full-scale architectural projects, allowing clients and professionals to experience and interact with the environment before construction. This technology will aid in problem detection, design refinement, and time and resource savings.

In tourism, VR will continue to offer immersive experiences that allow visitors to virtually explore historical and cultural sites, providing access to inaccessible or destroyed locations. This will help preserve cultural heritage and promote a unique form of virtual tourism.

In the entertainment sector, VR and AR are poised to revolutionize the way we consume and engage with content. Virtual reality experiences will transport users to fantasy worlds, allowing them to immerse themselves in interactive narratives and games like never before. Augmented reality, on the other hand, will enhance live events and performances by overlaying digital elements onto the real-world environment, creating captivating and enhanced experiences for audiences.

From virtual concerts and theatrical productions to immersive storytelling and gaming, VR and AR will offer new dimensions of entertainment, blurring the boundaries between the virtual and physical realms. These technologies will provide users with unprecedented levels of engagement and interactivity, making entertainment experiences more immersive, personalized, and unforgettable.
