The need to manage high-performance technology teams remotely has become crucial for countless companies in this somewhat new work model, which consolidated through the COVID-19 pandemic. With social isolation, digital transformation gained momentum, making technology essential in several segments.

Especially with the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) in diverse sectors, from industry to commerce and services, the challenge of coordinating geographically dispersed talents transcends complexity, opening a broad spectrum of opportunities to enhance our team management skills.

Next, I will share my experience segmenting it into four fundamental pillars:

Technology

Having an arsenal of tools, applications, and platform integrations facilitates asynchronous collaboration. In an increasingly digital world, this has become vital, enabling the team to work cohesively on a project, even if geographically distant or in different time zones.

Communication and Collaboration

Communication is not just the key factor to success in remote management, but it goes beyond regular dialogues. It involves creating unrestricted access to colleagues and leaders in an environment where the exchange of technical information and moments of decompression is possible. This human interaction, even if virtual, results in profound team engagement, strengthening the relationship among members.

Trust and Transparency

Relying on the foundation of a solid organizational culture, mutual trust becomes crucial. Promoting this trust goes beyond clear rules; it embraces autonomy and provides support, fostering a genuine sense of belonging. This generates an atmosphere where employees feel valued and safe to innovate.

Continuous Development

Committing to the continuous professional growth of your collaborators feeds motivation and arouses interest in meaningful contributions, including innovations in the field. Continuing education and skill development strengthen the team's ability to adapt to changes in the business environment.

Success Case: The Revolution in Practice at Grupo Boticário

In this group, where I manage an AI team, the transition to effective remote management was a milestone. We implemented transparent policies and collaborative tools that focused on humanizing interactions aligned with a strong culture of responsibility and results. This approach not only enhanced efficiency but also solidified the team's harmony, reflected in astonishing performances in our AI projects.

My reflection on remote management in technology, specifically AI, is a just speck in a constantly expanding universe. Managing high-performance professionals in the home office requires constant adaptation. I must improve my management skills as the remote model evolves. Managers who delve into this art of management will be one step ahead to lead successful teams.

Managing a technical team specialized in artificial intelligence is not a trivial task. However, employing a well-articulated strategy, showing empathy, and possessing a keen understanding of the area can lead the team to new heights of innovation, growth, and professional development.

My analysis of remote management in technology, particularly in the field of AI, represents only a fraction of a vast universe in perpetual transformation. As the remote model advances, I recognize the constant need to refine my skills and knowledge in management. This learning journey is continuous, and leaders dedicated to mastering this sophisticated art of management will be positioned one step ahead, ready to lead successful teams in an increasingly competitive and dynamic environment.
