Can you briefly overview your professional background, including your expertise and previous roles and responsibilities that have led to your current position?

I have accumulated over 20 years of experience in IT. My journey began with freelance work and consulting for residential and small businesses. However, a pivotal moment in my career occurred about a decade ago when I was appointed as the IT Manager for a publicly traded company specializing in carotid artery stent manufacturing.

In this solitary role, I shouldered a multitude of responsibilities. These included a primary focus on compliance and stock regulations, such as NASDAQ requirements. I also managed system administration, led project management efforts, conducted IT auditing, provided help desk support, and addressed physical and cyber security concerns. I collaborated closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to fortify the organization's cybersecurity, which had become increasingly critical in the face of rising cyber threats.

Earlier this year, I transitioned to another globally publicly traded company. In this new position, I have continued my IT management responsibilities, overseeing the entire IT landscape for the Israel affiliate.

What notable challenges have you faced in IT, particularly related to project delivery and operational capabilities, while working with different companies?

Challenges are an integral part of the job, making the work exciting. One major challenge is staying ahead in cybersecurity. Many users underestimate the consequences of not following guidelines, and a single user's actions can jeopardize an entire organization. The key is to raise awareness and keep users vigilant, encouraging them to report any suspicious activity or emails. The real challenge is getting end users to comprehend the seriousness of non-compliance with IT and cybersecurity guidelines.

Given the wide range of options available, individuals must gain a comprehensive understanding of their career path without necessarily limiting themselves to a specific IT field.

Which trends or technological advancements do you consider the most promising for shaping the future of IT and digital business in the upcoming years?

Undoubtedly, AI is already playing a substantial role and is poised to profoundly impact various industries. For instance, consider the construction of houses by autonomous trucks in Australia, a process now streamlined with technology and AI. Given AI's expanding capabilities, it is evident that numerous job roles in today's workforce may become automated, prompting the need to explore new income sources. The next generation will rely on identifying innovative resources. Many individuals are already harnessing AI for income generation by establishing AI-driven systems to produce and publish data, which is a significantly more efficient approach compared to traditional manual content creation.

Could you describe a challenging project or accomplishment in which you take pride and share any valuable lessons you've gained?

My accomplishments signify my current technical expertise and understanding. Being entrusted with overseeing an organization's IT is a pivotal contribution to business continuity, and I consider it a significant achievement. The most substantial accomplishments are the experiences I've accumulated, as they will undoubtedly benefit my future career, wherever it may lead.

Can you describe a time as an IT manager when you effectively handled a major technological change or disruption? How did you approach it, and what were the outcomes?

In all projects, the core process remains consistent, encompassing key stakeholders' planning, testing, documentation, and active involvement, especially in large-scale corporate projects. A critical aspect is the testing phase. Once business partners confirm the completion of testing, the project is scheduled for the production phase, which makes this process standard across various project types.

What guidance would you offer to aspiring individuals seeking to establish a career in IT with aspirations to become thought leaders like yourself?

In today's dynamic landscape, textbook knowledge is just one component of the learning journey. Hands-on experience holds immense value. Given the wide range of options available, individuals must gain a comprehensive understanding of their career path without necessarily limiting themselves to a specific IT field. They should concentrate on a broader field, remaining open to the numerous opportunities within their chosen path while remaining prepared to adapt and explore new direction
