Redefining Enterprise Communications

Mavenir

Guillaume Le Mener, SVP & GM, Enterprise Solutions
Although enterprise communication technology has come a long way since its inception, today’s unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solutions focus primarily on wireline-centric solutions that are underserving a predominantly mobile workforce. With businesses going global, spanning multiple geographies and time zones, the trend of working on-the-go has become a reality for most professionals, intensifying the need to rethink the way we use communications in the workplace.

“To redefine enterprise communications, you have to bridge the gap between users’ new mobility demands and organizations that are delivering solutions that provide a desktop-centric experience,” says Guillaume Le Mener, Mavenir’s SVP and GM of Enterprise Solutions. “Our solutions do just that, enabling every employee to stay omni-connected, no matter where they are or what network they’re using. At Mavenir we’ve built on our leadership in mobile network transformation to offer web-scale and cloud-native applications and services that bridge those communication gaps, within and around the business.”

Mavenir’s mobile-native unified communications and collaboration solution (mUCC) is built around the mobile experience. It leverages a comprehensive portfolio that includes a unique set of VoLTE, VoWiFi, mobile messaging, Multi-ID and Cloud RAN software solutions to enable service providers, mobile operators, and wireline operators to successfully deliver innovative new services at lower costs while also opening up new revenue streams. With a comprehensive end-to-end product portfolio encompassing every layer of the network infrastructure stack, and a 100% software 5G cloud RAN solution, Mavenir’s advanced communication applications promise to deliver the networks of the future.

Unlike most of the proprietary tools currently available in the market, Mavenir’s open architecture and mobile-native approach allows every organization’s mobile workforce to extend instant messaging outside the walled garden of enterprise networks by leveraging the rich communication services (RCS) standard, an evolution of existing mobile messaging that provides rich conversational multimedia messaging with universal reach. Mavenir establishes quality and monitoring control over the clients’ wireless networks to not only deliver a superior user experience but also to empower corporate CIOs (especially in the financial and healthcare industries) to monitor messages sent through their employees’ cell phones and laptops. Just like some of the big players such as Google, Verizon, and Apple, the Mavenir platform leverages high-end technology, including cloud and virtualization, to create a mobile-native UCC offering with all the typical features but at a much lower cost. Built from the ground up as a white-label software solution, mUCC provides maximum deployment flexibility: either on the CSP’s premises or from Mavenir’s own cloud infrastructure—an innovation that also enables smaller development cycles for faster delivery.

Embedded natively into the smartphone, Mavenir’s mUCC application serves as the primary business tool used by employees on a day-to-day basis

With a long experience in security, the company’s cloud-native mUCC solution operates under a regulated environment to maintain the privacy of sensitive business conversations over voice, video and messaging. Powered by big data technology and machine-learning algorithms, the Mavenir Spam Shield solution specializes in learning new threats and fraud detection, such as IP-PBX fraud. “Embedded natively into smartphones, Mavenir’s mUCC application serves as the primary business tool used by employees on a day-to-day basis,” says Le Mener. “By using the mobile network’s guaranteed bit rate mechanisms to prioritize business communication for employees, the solution smartly distributes network bandwidth so that business media flows (audio, video and collaboration) have precedence over other types of streaming media, thus guaranteeing high-quality communications delivery.”

Mavenir has consistently empowered communication service providers (CSPs) to address the needs of those small businesses that lack the technical expertise to manage complex communication solutions. One such example is a small US-based service provider that harnessed Mavenir’s consumer-like experience to quickly offer its small business customers a UCC solution that is frictionless in terms of user experience and employee onboarding. The user-friendly UX of the solution also resulted in the increased adoption rate of the new Mavenir-powered service.

Using its messaging as a platform (MaaP) offering (similar to Apple’s Business Chat), Mavenir is able to easily embed sophisticated messaging functionality into every organization’s B2C applications. For example, a CSP could utilize advertising or Internet of Things (IoT) applications to enable freemium business models for its customers. The MaaP platform also provides intelligent chatbots. With these, CSPs can support and stay in touch with their customers on a 24/7 basis—a very cost-effective and efficient way to enhance customer engagement capabilities. In the near future, Mavenir will also deliver an AI-based voice assistant that will help users set up reminders and convert voice into a preferred language during an ongoing call.

Leveraging decades of mobile network innovation and expertise, Mavenir launches its new Enterprise Solutions division to disrupt the old wireline-centric UC market and redefine business communication for the new mobile-centric world.

Deutsche Telekom Chooses Mavenir as Partner for Open RAN Deployment in Europe #MWC23

Thursday, March 23, 2023

BONN, Germany: Mavenir, the Network Software Provider building the future of networks with cloud-native solutions that run on any cloud, and Deutsche Telekom announced that Mavenir has been chosen for Deutsche Telekom’s Open RAN deployment in a country of its European footprint. Mavenir will be delivering its OpenBeam massive MIMO radios as well as 3rd party O-RAN based Radio Units (O-RU) for open Fronthaul. In addition, Mavenir will also act as end-to-end system integrator for that deployment.

Abdu Mudesir, Chief Technology Officer at Deutsche Telekom, said: “Deutsche Telekom is actively driving network disaggregation based on multi-vendor Open RAN architecture to provide customer focused innovation in the RAN. We will continue our partnership with Mavenir to accelerate Open RAN development and create a path to deployment at scale.”

Mavenir’s Open cloud-native RAN solution is based on fully containerized microservices allowing it to be deployed easily on any cloud infrastructure. Mavenir’s Open RAN compliant solution works on open interfaces, and it further disaggregates the RAN architecture into Distributed Unit (DU) and Centralized Unit (CU). These containerized network functions are running on Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) hardware and are designed to support multiple Fronthaul splits simultaneously – making the Open RAN solution an ideal choice for a vendor-agnostic and future-proof Radio network architecture strategy.

Pardeep Kohli, President and CEO at Mavenir, said: “Mavenir’s market leading cloud-native Open RAN product presents the way forward to introduce automation and intelligence to radio networks, in order to deliver on the use cases and manage complexity and data demands of future network elasticity, flexibility and best-in-class automation and quality. The Mavenir OpenBeam radio portfolio fully compliments Deutsche Telekom’s spectrum and RAN requirements, and we look forward to playing an active role in introducing radio network automation and driving openness in the RAN.”

Deutsche Telekom and Mavenir make advancements in 5G SA network slicing

Monday, October 09, 2023

Mavenir and Deutsche Telekom have made significant advancements across two projects aimed at advancing monetisation opportunities enabled by 5G standalone network slicing technologies.

“Mavenir is committed to support Deutsche Telekom’s 5G Standalone business objectives through the enablement of dynamic network slicing,” said Ashok Khuntia, president of core networks, Mavenir.

“Mavenir’s cloud-native 5G Core exposes Open APIs allowing Deutsche Telekom’s enterprise customers to seamlessly request deployment and configuration of dedicated 5G Core user and control plane network functions, as well as to provision corresponding subscribers’ profiles through an orchestration layer.”

Powered by Mavenir’s cloud-native Converged Packet Core solution the first of these advancements is a new 5G Live Video Production service, developed with RTL Deutschland, for the stable broadcasting of live events using 5G standalone and network slicing technologies.

This new service, now commercially available from Deutsche Telekom, allows professional video or media production companies to transmit live HD video streams reliably over the 5G network, without the need for specialised equipment.

“Our enterprise customers are demanding tailored and flexible connectivity services,” added Torsten Griesche, VP of tribe head data (network data core) at Deutsche Telekom.

“We are proud that our pioneering work on 5G SA Slicing can now be experienced by our customers with the launch of 5G Live Video Production. This is just the beginning of the 5G service journey that will leverage slicing and automation.”

The second advancement is the demonstration of a multi-domain orchestration proof-of-concept (PoC) with open APIs for 5G dynamic network slicing services on-demand.

The PoC illustrates the ease with which businesses can submit a service request through Deutsche Telekom's customer interface, initiating the setup of a protected, tailored 5G network slice that delivers superior quality of service tailored to a customer’s specific connectivity needs.

Deutsche Telekom and Mavenir Unveil Advancements in 5G Standalone Network Slicing Service Opportunities

Tuesday, October 10, 2023

BONN, Germany-- Mavenir, the Network Software Provider building the future of networks with cloud-native solutions that run on any cloud, together with Deutsche Telekom today announce significant advancements across two projects both focused on progressing monetisation opportunities enabled by 5G standalone network slicing technologies and powered by Mavenir’s cloud-native Converged Packet Core.

• 5G Live Video Production Service, with RTL Deutschland, for stable broadcasting of live events using 5G standalone and network slicing technologies. This new service, now commercially available from Deutsche Telekom, allows professional video or media production companies to transmit live HD video streams reliably over the 5G network, even without special equipment (e.g. satellite van). To further increase the service reach, this use case can also be extended to mobile journalism, where regular consumers can transmit spontaneous video production using their own smartphones.

• Demonstration of a multi-domain orchestration proof-of-concept (PoC) with open APIs for 5G dynamic network slicing services on-demand. The collaborative PoC illustrates the ease with which businesses can submit a service request through Deutsche Telekom's customer interface, initiating the setup of a protected, tailored 5G network slice that assures superior Quality of Service (QoS) tailored to a customer’s specific connectivity needs. The complete customer journey from the moment an order is placed, to the translation of that order into precise deployment and configuration details for network functions, results in the activation of a dedicated end-to-end network slice with a custom Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Ashok Khuntia, President, Core Networks, Mavenir, says: “Mavenir is committed to support Deutsche Telekom’s 5G Standalone business objectives through the enablement of dynamic network slicing. Mavenir’s cloud-native 5G Core exposes Open APIs allowing Deutsche Telekom’s enterprise customers to seamlessly request deployment and configuration of dedicated 5G Core user and control plane network functions, as well as to provision corresponding subscribers’ profiles through an orchestration layer.”

Torsten Griesche, VP, Tribe Head Data (Network Data Core) at Deutsche Telekom: “Our enterprise customers are demanding tailored and flexible connectivity services. We are proud that our pioneering work on 5G SA Slicing can now be experienced by our customers with the launch of 5G Live Video Production. This is just the beginning of the 5G service journey that will leverage slicing and automation.”
