The Silver Bullet for IoT Transformation

Stefan Lindvall. CEO
The Internet of Things (IoT) movement is creating unprec¬edented opportunities in business value creation through its arsenal of data. “Strategizing for a connected experi¬ence will be prudent,” states Stefan Lindvall, CEO of MultiTech Systems. Lindvall’s sagacious words are backed by the research reports from Cisco and Ericsson that estimate 50 billion devices will be connected by 2020. However, deployment of IoT devices and solutions is an uphill task as they should stand the test of time and technological advancements. Well aware of the nuanc¬es and complexities in the M2M communication arena, Mounds View, MN based MultiTech Systems helps companies design and develop IoT solutions and manufactures communications equipments for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

In its pursuit to provide an umbrella solution for a connected experience, MultiTech’s DeviceHQ tracks and controls the overall performance of on-field IoT devices as well as configures the instruments. Being a cloud-based suite of tools, it facilitates the installation of remote devices from the control center to the edge of the network. The company ensures the operability and coexistence of field devices through regular firmware updates. “With all the technology changes likely to happen, it is critical to be able to reach out to remote devices for provisioning and even application changes,” states Lindvall.

In addition to deployment and management of on-field devices through its device manager, DeviceHQ empowers users with an application store to build and release applications. “The application store permits users to release their own applications or choose to leverage the shared knowledge and expertise of others in the industry,” says Lindvall. The firm irons out the complexities in amalgamating hardware and software deployment through its MultiConnect Dragonfly Cellular System-on-Module—a programmable computing platform. “The Mobile Network Operator (MNO) approved MultiConnect Dragonfly is a developer oriented product that offers ready-to-integrate modules with the convenience of an onboard cellular radio all in one compact design,” explains Lindvall.

MultiTech is a pioneer in developing on LoRaWAN protocol to revolutionize M2M communications and create a robust alternative to cellular technology

MultiTech leverages current technologies and protocols in its products like MultiConnect Dragonfly and DeviceHQ, while also unleashing the power of LoRa—long range wireless communications that uses very low power levels. “MultiTech is a pioneer in developing on LoRaWAN protocol to revolutionize M2M communications and create a robust alternative to cellular technology,” comments Lindvall. The company’s MultiConnect Conduit IP67 Base Station is an IoT gateway solution that manages deployment of LoRa private or public networks. To assess the advantages of LoRa in addressing the IoT needs, MultiTech proffers MultiConnect mDot Box (MTDOT-BOX Series)—a portable and handheld device—to ease and expedite LoRa proof of concept development.

“In addition to our advanced offerings like MultiConnect Conduit IP67 Base Station, we are committed to helping our customers navigate the entire ecosystem through collaboration with service providers across the entire value chain,” states Lindvall. MultiTech adheres to the principle of manufacturing quality and innovative products in agile manner. “Inside our innovation labs, we are constantly experimenting with new technologies, but always focused on solving real customer problems,” highlights Lindvall. MultiTech’s committed and experienced team of experts is driven by the goal to bring consumer oriented and cutting-edge solutions to the market. “At the end of the day, we rejoice seeing our ideas come to fruition in real-world solutions that are changing the world for the better,” concludes Lindvall.
