SANTA CLARA, CA: The goal of blending the administration and management of both public and private cloud resources into a single, integrated solution is realized by HotLink Corporation through its ‘HotLink Cloud Management Express’. Being the provider of transformation solutions for hybrid IT management, the company embraces Microsoft Azure, vCloud Air, OpenStack and Amazon EC2; and encourages on-premises support for OpenStack, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer and Red Hat KVM.
“By utilizing best-of-breed technology from Cisco and HotLink, customers realize maximum business value from private and public clouds without adding integration or management complexity. We are partnering with HotLink so our mutual Intercloud customers can benefit from a streamlined hybrid IT solution in a hybrid cloud environment,” explains Kenneth Owens, CTO, Cloud Infrastructure Services, Cisco Systems.
The features — reduced cost, increased agility and faster time to market drives more than 65 percent of enterprise IT departments to step into hybrid cloud before 2016, predicts IDC, an analyst firm. In order to realize the above mentioned benefits, corporate IT needs to expertly plan the management of various internal and external infrastructures without increasing the operational complexity and IT staff. The hybrid cloud platform demands the flexibility of plug-and-play with vast cloud alternatives along with on-premise virtual environment.
“We chose HotLink to unify management of our hybrid IT infrastructure because it gives us the ability to utilize the robustness of VMware vCenter and easily extend it to cloud-based platforms. We like that the HotLink solution is so tightly integrated into vCenter, simple to deploy and really intuitive to use,” states Bernd Harzog, CEO, OpsDataStore.
HotLink Cloud Management Express presents single point of administration, monitoring, management and automation enabling VMware vCenter Server to yield hybrid cloud management platform. Additionally, the existing VMware vCenter-compatible tools and workflows can be leveraged across hybrid resources. The solution can be deployed under two hours without requiring specialized skills or costly integration platform.
For easy and automated addition of hybrid resources to the VMware vCenter inventory tree, the solution offers auto-discovery of cloud-based resources spanning on- and off-premise. Other capabilities include: fine-grained monitoring and performance data that allows consistent management and analytics across resources; workload properties are permitted to edit and provision from native templates; sports hybrid alarms, alerts and change management for single point operational management; and consistent, traceable access controls are provided by unified permissions and security management. Also, power operations and VM console access is supported to let users manage a range of cloud-based workloads with a single point of administration.
