Desktop management is a process to manage computers within the company. It includes supervising laptops, desktops, and other computing devices to fulfill end users demands. It is a part of system management that administers all components of company’s information systems along with database management and network management. Traditionally, the desktop management task includes maintenance and installation of hardwares and softwares, administering user permissions, and spam filtering. But in the modern day scenario, desktop management is far more than the traditional tasks and includes security related tasks, like patch management, controlling greynet applications and tackling virus and spyware attacks, are also included in it.
