FREMONT, CA: With the increasing number of cloud computing offerings, Microsoft Office 365 has emerged as a robust choice for organizations and individuals. Accellion, a private cloud solution provider, has emerged as the sixth vendor in joining the Microsoft Cloud Storage Partner Program. Accellion provides a leading secure content platform that increases enterprise productivity, data security and compliance.
Kiteworks is an Accellion content platform that extends Microsoft Office Online to content stored on-premises and in the cloud without the need of duplicating files. The integration with Microsoft creates interests in making enterprise employees more productive and secure. kiteworks also provides a private cloud architecture designed to securely access and share all on-premises and cloud storage office files from PCs and Macs, phones, tablets and web browsers. It also uses a “single pane of glass” to extend office 365 connectivity to other content systems such as ECM systems, cloud storage repositories, and file systems.
Users can securely preview, search, check-in/check-out, download, upload new versions, and create or edit Microsoft Office documents. The kiteworks secure content platform also allows end users to access and share Microsoft Office files through the help of web, desktop, and mobile clients, as well as SFTP, and APIs.
Additional collaboration features comprehends unlimited file size sharing, blacklisting a variety of application, audio, document, image, text, video, and custom file type extensions. Furthermore, users can access attach files or folders that are stored in kiteworks, without leaving the Outlook portal. Replying to Outlook emails with protected files attachments is allowed through secure uploading to the kiteworks server.
“We want to give Office customers the best possible experience when working with Office files, regardless of how they are accessed or where they are stored. Microsoft is excited that Accellion has joined the Cloud Storage Provider program, enabling our joint customers to be more productive when accessing Office documents on the web or in the cloud,” says Rob Howard, Director, Office 365 Ecosystem, Microsoft.
