Accellion Rolls out New Security Features for advanced Enterprise Data Safety
PALO ALTO, CA: In an announcement made, the cloud solution provider for secure file sharing, Accellion, Inc., rolled out new key security features to its kiteworks secure content platform to ensure safeguarding of enterprise data from a costly data breach. The new features include, better facilitation of enterprise employees to handle enterprise content securely.
Kiteworks provides a private cloud architecture designed for securely accessing and sharing enterprise content stored in Sharepoint, Onedrive, Dropbox, Googledrive for work, Windows File shares, Opentext, Documentum etc, without requiring the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN). “As more and more enterprise employees create and share increasing amounts of sensitive content, the risk of a data leak, whether accidental or intentional, grows too. Therefore, having a number of safeguards in place that allow employees to access and share content securely is critical for enterprises. Kiteworks is singularly positioned to enable secure access to enterprise content, from a single pane of glass, ensuring the highest levels of data security and adhering to the most rigorous industry compliance requirements.” said Yorgen Edholm, CEO of Accellion.
The location of the employees does not affect the collaboration of colleagues or accessing content which lies on cloud; critical data can be accessed and worked upon securely under the kiteworks secure content platform. “As data breaches become more frequent, sophisticated and damaging, cyber security technology has to respond and, ideally, stay ahead of the hackers," commented Jim Lundy of Aragon Research.
The new inclusion in the security features are restricted folders and leak proof editing, desktop remote wipe, secure email message, file type exclusions, touch id, multi-branding, collaboration permissions per user profile and single sign-on using Kerberos. "Having several mechanisms in place to protect PII and other sensitive data is therefore not just advantageous but absolutely critical. Accellion has an enviable track record of innovation when it comes to securing enterprise content and these new features make kiteworks one of the more secure options available,” said Lundy.
