Accellion Supports Government Agencies with FedRAMP Certification
FREMONT, CA: A private cloud solutions provider working on file sharing, data security and compliance—Accellion, takes a step forward to provide cloud security to its clients. Accellion underwent in-depth examinations on its solution’s data security, data governance and security practices. With the completion of these processes, Accellion achieves the “in-process” certification for Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) from the government.
“This achievement demonstrates to our many current and prospective government customers that we take cybersecurity and the authenticity of their data extremely seriously,” explains Yorgen Edholm, CEO, Accellion. FedRAMP is a government-wide program, providing standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. The goal of FedRAMP is to increase automation and build real-time data improving consistent application of existing security practices.
The in-process certification impacts ‘kiteworks’, an enterprise solution platform of Accellion offering multi-tier private cloud architecture. Yorgen notes, “With kiteworks managing document workflows, it’s easy to create and add users to folders, assign tasks, add comments, and maintain document version control.” This solution enables secure access and shares enterprise content from any device—laptops, mobile, computer. Accellion is working with its sponsoring agency to coordinate with the FedRAMP Program Management Office (PMO). With this achievement, federal agencies will have validation about kiteworks as an enhanced content management and collaboration solution that enables employees to securely access and transfer sensitive government documents and files.
“We are actively pursuing and progressing toward full FedRAMP certification so that we can further support government agencies in their pursuit to protect sensitive data,” adds Yorgen. With this full certification, FedRAMP package will be available on GovCloud and Amazon Cloud.
