Acquisition of Metro Data Centers to Expand DartPoints' Footprint to Central Ohio
The acquisition of MDC is an example of how Dart is executing its strategy for regional growth to improve interconnectivity.
FREMONT, CA: DartPoints, an operator of edge colocation data centers, acquires Metro Data Centers (MDC), a full-service provider of interconnection and data center offerings in Dublin, OH, serving the Central Ohio region. The acquisition widens DartPoints footprint with high-tier data center infrastructure potentials. The facility provides colocation, cloud, and carrier-neutral connectivity solutions, fortifying DartPoints mission to create carrier-neutral edge interconnection points in markets that require it most.
In August 2020, DartPoints unveiled its strategy to develop and acquire edge interconnection and colocation functions in the Southwest, Southeast, Upper Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions. The company's strategy focuses on offering lower-cost, high-performance solutions in tier 2 "4 markets which are not optimally served. DartPoints will continue to apply its strategy through acquisitions and edge colocation data centers to develop regional carrier-neutral aggregation points. The acquisition of MDC expands DartPoints regional presence and provides customers edge colocation solutions that are not available in the market today.
The MDC acquisition illustrates DartPoints strategy across markets offering growth locally and regionally. MDC allows DartPoints to boost its ecosystem into Central Ohio using its existing strategic partnerships. The region provides robust connectivity solutions, and its strategic geographic location is attracting a growing number of cloud services and content service providers.
MDCs solutions enable DartPoints to immediately deliver its capabilities into this current market and surrounding locations. The MDC team has a history of bringing innovative solutions to its customers, and Dart looks forward to having them continue their operations as a part of the team. In June 2020, DartPoints released its Eastern Iowa edge colocation data center interconnection point. In August 2020, the company trumpeted enhancements to Texas's regional interconnection capabilities with LOGIX Fiber Networks. DartPoints and LOGIX Fiber Networks are portfolio companies of Astra Capital Management.
