AI-driven IoT Data in Healthcare
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) in healthcare institutions have paved the way for robust connectivity, storage capabilities and a highly secured path for medical data. The low cost of deployment of the AI and IoT devices like wearable sensors and activity trackers have also been made affordable for the hospital to leverage these technologies for better care.
Since healthcare organizations have access to huge amount of patient data along with a multitude of connected devices, it is imperative to keep the data and the network secured at all times. In order to achieve this, artificial intelligence is utilized to cut costs, refine clinical decisions and it is believed it will also help in the integration of electronic health records and analytical tools in the future.
Healthcare IoT has quite a lot of significant challenges with data security and the struggle to manage all the IoT medical devices in the health institutions. Apart from AI systems, a robust IT team working on the security and connectivity are also pivotal in unlocking the full potential of healthcare IoT. For instance, data lakes or the location where big data of medical records are stored is an essential tool for accessing the patient data when needed.
The convergence of IoT, healthcare data and artificial intelligence will have a major impact on the way healthcare is practiced today. The key component of this convergence is in converting the huge amount of medical data into meaning and valuable insights for a better functioning health care system.
