AliCloud Partners with NVIDIA to Envision HPC through Cloud Computing
FREMONT, CA: AliCloud, the cloud computing business of Alibaba Group partners with NVIDIA, a visual computing solution provider at its computing conference of 2016 Shangai Summit. The companies team up to provide the first GPU- based cloud HPC platform in china. The partnership also aims at providing support to the emerging companies in the areas of HPC and deep learning with comprehensive GPU (Graphics processing unit) computing.
GPU- accelerated computing is the use of a graphics processing unit together with a CPU to accelerate scientific, analytics, engineering, consumer and enterprise applications. The GPU accelerated computing enhances application performance by offloading compute- intensive portions of applications to the GPU, which enables the remainder of the codes to run on the CPU.
NVIDIA and AliCloud will collaborate to further expand the deep learning market and also offer innovative companies in deep learning through Artificial Intelligence and strong support of Robots. In addition, the company conducts deeper research and technical co-operations in the field like deep learning, HPC, and CDN value added service application. The company also delivers support and services to their clients by helping them to port and optimize their HPC applications.
NVIDIA GRID is an advanced technology for sharing true virtual GPU (vGPU) hardware application between multiple users without compromising on the graphics experience. The technology ensures complete application compatibility ensuring that the features and experience to be exactly the same as it appears on physical device.
"We're delighted to provide our clients, especially emerging start-up companies, with GPU accelerated computing services on AliCloud, the leader in cloud computing services in China. Users can enjoy the latest GPU accelerated HPC, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and deep learning technologies through the cloud, “says Shanker Trivedi, Global VP, NVIDIA.
The GPU server instances are available on Alicloud’s official website allowing users to buy. The cloud based services offers companies and research institutes to acquire GPU computing services directly from the cloud.
