Apple Enhances iPhone with the Introduction of 3D Touch
FREMONT, CA: Adding another feather to its products, Apple has launched 3D Touch for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Already available on the Apple Watch and the new MacBook trackpad, the company has now advanced the feature to its iPhone series, reports Romain Dillet for Tech crunch.
It offers Peek & Pop; it lets users peek into content, where they can preview an email, a link, an address, a message and also respond to it without actually opening the content. It also enables users to view the photos while they are still taking new images.
Apart from all these, there are speculations that game developers will also get favors from this new enhancement; it is believed that they can draw apps and photo edit apps from it.
According to the Apple’s website, the technology behind this feature is pretty advance. “When you press the display, capacitive sensors measure ‘microscopic changes in the distance between the cover glass and the backlight.’ The operating system uses those measurements to respond to the pressure you’re exerting and even provides responsive feedback with ‘subtle taps’ created by the new-to-iPhone Taptic Engine.”
Moreover, the new feature offers a new, time-saving feature- Quick Actions, which lets users do the things they do most often faster and in fewer steps. It can be generally completed with a single press on an app’s icon on the Home Screen. It not only provides quick access to common tasks from the Home Screen, but also from the screens that appear when users Peek into the content.
