By CIOReview | Thursday, May 8, 2014

FREMONT, CA: Asta development, a software provider for construction industry is all set to unveil the enhancements to their products in the ENR+ Dodge Global Construction Summit to be held in New York City on May 13 and 14. The company is catching up with the transformation the construction industry is undergoing with BIM and other technology adoptions.

Visitors of the summit will get to see Asta power project’s new BIM features that enable proper 4D planning by linking project schedules and 3D models in a single, cloud-connected application powered with greater collaboration capacities. It also assists in generating master project plan and schedule directly from an IFC4 model and link objects in the model to specific tasks in the schedule.

Asta power project features creates and plays 3D visualization of a building along its timeline, project milestones and maintain a real-time 3D view of the evolving building throughout the project, reflecting changes from model to schedule. It also allows sharing and exchange of information between compatible platforms like Autodesk Revit and Arcon. This eliminates the troubles of emailing or FTPtransfers of entire BIM project files between parties.

Asta Development has also come up with Site Progress Mobile, a mobile app and cloud storage solution for Asta Power project users which delivers easy, flexible progress reporting on site and on the move. Currently available in Android and iOS, a windows compatible version is soon to follow. It requires downloading and registration and a meager monthly fee is implemented based on the number of users and project files.

The user controls the updates on the app but when the signal is weak Site Progress Mobile goes offline and automatically saves progress updates, images and notes on the mobile device until the connection is restored. The data is then automatically synchronized back into the project plan. Site Progress Mobile also allows photographs to be taken and associate them with particular tasks or build stages of photographs to show real on site progress.
