Augmented Network Security for ICS
SUNNYVALE, CA: Fortinet, the global provider of high-performance cyber security solutions, and Nozomi Networks, a provider of real-time visibility and advanced monitoring capabilities for industrial networks, has announced their partnership to provide a new and unconventional security solution for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). The combined deployment of Nozomi's SCADAguardian and Fortinet’s Security Fabric proffers ICS customers with comprehensive cybersecurity protection, from real-time anomaly detection to swift corrective action.
“Our approach to security is in alignment with the current security industry. We provide clients with a highly barricaded and focused security platform, instead of merely implementing security as an add–on to network or similar aspects,” said Andrew Del Matto, CFO, Fortinet.
SCADAguardian non-intrusively detects anomalies and suspicious behavior in the ICS network and alerts Fortinet’s FortiGate enterprise firewalls to block the suspicious traffic. “Our platform, Fortigate Next Generation Firewall, is available as a physical appliance as well as a virtual appliance,” said Matto.
At Fortinet, an apt technology implementation is more than just deployment and extends to ensuring performance of the security features. Organizational requirement for security always tends to be unique, and calls for enhanced performance and scalability at all levels. The scenario requires superior skills such as those extended by Fortinet. The company’s Data Center Firewall, Advanced Threat Protection, Unique Threat Firewall and Internal Network Firewall follow a design that is driven by the security needs for any organization.
Fortinet's Security Fabric is an intelligent and adaptive architecture that includes key capabilities necessary for an organization to secure their industrial networks. It is designed to deliver distributed security for protections against threats from Internet of Things (IoT) and remote devices. Security Fabric ensures the implementation of end-to-end segmentation and additional novel security strategies for comprehensive threat protection of critical assets across the expanding attack surface. Additionally, Fortinet's Advanced Persistent Threat Protection Framework detects and analyzes advanced attacks that might bypass more traditional signature-based defenses. Nozomi SCADAguardian is a network monitoring and protection solution developed specifically for ICS. It facilitates the creation of tailored security profiles and automatically detects critical anomalies.
