Avere to Bring Virtual FXT Edge filers to Microsoft Azure
PITTSBURGH, PA; Avere Systems has partnered with Microsoft to bring its Virtual FXT Edge Filers to Microsoft Azure, an open enterprise cloud computing platform. Customers deploy and scale cloud compute on-demand, making NAS data accessible to Microsoft Azure. Avere Systems delivers more modern architectural approach to put an end to the rising cost and reduce the complexity of data storage.
As a result of the fast growing unstructured data, most of the organizations have to spend more money on storage technology and data centers to house them securely. . The new relationship allows businesses to extend their current on-premise NAS solutions to act as a front-end to Microsoft Azure, like an internal drive, with the caching in the Virtual FXT Edge Filers that effectively reduces latency without any performance sacrifices.
Avere’s Virtual FXT Edge filer is easy to manage and install while providing best-in-class NAS functionality (including NFS and SMB) and clusters to deliver high availability, scalable performance and capacity. The new collaboration enables customers to harness Azure compute infrastructure with the FXT Edge filer to run their applications on-premises anytime without any disruption and also reduces the complexity of data storage.
"By integrating the near-infinite processing capabilities of Microsoft Azure, organizations will gain a tremendous business advantage as the power of this flexible, enterprise-grade cloud computing platform becomes an extension of their own IT infrastructure, "says ,Nicole Herskowitz, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft Azure.
