AVEVA Confirms Commitment to Sustainability with Action for Good Program
AVEVA has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability with its Action for Good program, which donates 1 percent of its after-tax income to help global communities.
FREMONT, CA: AVEVA, a world leader in industrial software that drives digital transformation for industrial enterprises managing complicated operational processes, reaffirms its commitment to sustainability with its Action for Good program, which donates 1 percent of its after-tax income to help global communities. Employees at AVEVA have pledged to support three charities as part of the program: WaterAid, CALM, and Save The Children, with activities that not only fit with the company's Sustainability strategy but also represent the need to increase support for disadvantaged communities that are disproportionately affected by the pandemic's adverse effects.
Transforming Millions of Lives with Clean Water
AVEVA helps municipalities improve operational efficiency in water and sanitation facilities worldwide through its products and innovation. Beyond its products' positive effect, the organization is dedicated to developing a network of collaborators that can help them meet the most vulnerable people on essential issues, including access to clean water, which is one of their focus areas under the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals system.
AVEVA workers chose WaterAid, an international non-governmental agency that works on water, sanitation, and hygiene worldwide, to receive just over $100,000, which would provide clean water to 5,000 people. WaterAid's contributions will provide clean water and sanitation to people in 28 countries, including Rwanda, Malawi, Niger, and Colombia.
Employee-driven Initiatives inspired by the desire to support underserved communities
Lisa Johnston, Chief Sustainability Officer, AVEVA, commented, "The pandemic has exacerbated the need for humanity to step forward and rally around people and groups or communities who are underserved in a multitude of ways. Our employee wellbeing during this time has been fundamental and so we encourage our colleagues to commit their spare time to supporting both humanitarian and environmental initiatives, in line with our global Sustainability program."
The Corporate Engagement Awards (CEA) recently awarded AVEVA a bronze medal in the category of Best CSR Activity or Program to Support or Develop a Corporate Reputation, and a Highly Commended in the category of Best Engagement of an Internal Audience in a CSR Program. This announcement follows the release of AVEVA's fourth consecutive recognition in the FTSE4Good, and its intention to join the United Nations Global Compact as a participant member, which was revealed in January 2021.
