Backstop Solutions Deepens Asset Owner Expertise with Appointment of Chad Erwin
CHICAGO - Backstop Solutions Group, a leading provider of cloud-based productivity solutions for the institutional investment industry, today announced the appointment of Chad Erwin, CFA, CPA, as Senior Vice President, Asset Owners. Erwin has performed a number of roles during his 20-year career within the institutional investment industry, including portfolio management, head of global due diligence, and chief operating officer.
In his new role, Erwin is tasked with the overall client experience of Backstop's current and future allocator base by leading efforts to solve enterprise collaboration needs around the investment process, further integrating external data sources, architecting managed services offerings, and building upon higher-order portfolio and risk management needs.
"I am excited about Chad joining our team and look forward to incorporating his deep expertise as a former operational leader into our product development, solutions consulting, professional services, marketing, and sales efforts," said Clint Coghill, CEO of Backstop. "Chad's appointment will position us to continue fulfilling our mission to optimize time for the investment, operations, legal, and compliance teams within asset owners, making them more collaborative, efficient, and effective."
"I have been partnering with Backstop since 2004, when I first became a client as the CFO/COO of a multi-family office," said Erwin. "I am now thrilled to bring my perspective to Backstop to help optimize the investment process for our asset owner clients. Given the increasing demands from both the regulatory and fiduciary fronts, I see a real opportunity for Backstop to holistically address the multi-asset tracking needs across all types of allocators."
Erwin has an Accounting degree from the University of Iowa and an MBA in Analytic Finance and Econometrics from the University of Chicago. He is a CPA and CFA charterholder. Effective immediately, Erwin will be based in Backstop's Chicago headquarters.
