Beacon Technology to Leverage Ping HD's Digital Signage Platform
FREMONT, CA: Ping HD announced Beacon support for its award-winning, cloud-based EngagePHD™ digital signage platform. Ping HD is one of the well-known digital signage solutions providers across multiple industries.
EngagePHD™ was developed by Ping HD after understanding the growing need for a low-cost, robust, and scalable digital signage platform. It is an easy-to-use digital signage platform which delivers content management over cloud and has a network monitoring application. EngagePHD™ was constructed using latest web technology that work seamlessly with the intelligent SoC (System on a Chip) displays manufactured by Samsung and LG Electronics, in addition to Windows, Chromebox and Android based media players.
Beacon technology is a device that transmits small amount of data through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) up to 150 feet. Beacon technology strengthens the EngagePHD platform by expanding marketing, branding and loyalty options for retailers, restaurants, sports teams, hoteliers, and airlines. Beacon also helps organizations to develop mobile applications for their customers and guests.
Beacon technology gets activated when the selected smartphone performs the search for Beacon in the background. After detection, EngagePHD™ and the mobile application countercheck if the data is associated with the same Beacon using cellular data or Wi-Fi through EngagePHD™ cloud. Once the connection is established, customers can receive personalized content over smartphone. Otherwise, customized messages can be posted by using mobile signals on pre-existing digital signage displays. The customized messages make targeting specific customers easy with the help of personalized ads, promotions, product information and calls to action. From a marketing perspective, the possibilities are endless for Ping HD’s customers who are engaged in digital signage.
As part of support for Beacons, Ping HD has an Android and iOS app that can be used for demonstration. However, an API is available so that the code can be integrated into any existing mobile application of a specific organization.
“As adoption of EngagePHD continues to accelerate, adding support for the latest technologies will remain Ping HD's primary objective to ensure that new and existing customers have all the tools they need for effective digital communication.”, said Kevin Goldsmith, CTO at Ping HD.
