Big Switch Networks Brings SDN Underlay for VMware NSX
FREMONT, CA: Big Switch Networks introduces physical network automation and visibility into software-defined data centers powered by VMware. The latest Big Cloud Fabric 2.6 combines physical network automation and visibility with VMware NSX platform alongside integration with VMware vCenter Server to support vSphere workload.
VMware NSX executed on Big Cloud Fabric bridges the visibility gaps between the virtual network (overlay) and the underlying physical network (underlay). The latest Big Cloud Fabric comprises of an enhanced Fabric Analytics module which provides deep visibility of VMware virtual machines for network administrators.
The latest edition also provides rapid VXLAN Tunnel Endpoints (VTEP) troubleshooting on Big Cloud Fabric underlay across the fabric including source VTEP, source leaf, spine, destination leaf, and destination VTEP.
“NSX on Big Cloud Fabric offers a next-generation approach to SDN that removes legacy visibility constraints and will accelerate network virtualization adoption,” said Douglas Murray, CEO, Big Switch.
“Big Cloud Fabric as an SDN underlay for VMware NSX offers customers choice, compelling bare-metal economics, and enhanced virtual and physical network visibility,” said Hatem Naguib, VP, Networking and Security, VMware.
The integration of Big Cloud Fabric and vCenter yields: auto host detection and link aggregation formation; network policy migration for vMotion/DRS events; auto L2 Network creation and VM learning.
