Blackberry and Google Soon to Make Android Business Ready
FREMONT, CA: Blackberry and Google teams up to improve the enterprise security features of Android and develop better device management for the platform. They will bring the security features of Blackberry’s enterprise device deployment service BES12to Android through Android 5.0 Lollipop and Google Play for Work.
BES12 is a type of enterprise mobility management system that sets up a secure, dedicated profile to manage work applications.
According to Blackberry, “We and Google are working closely together to set new standards in enterprise mobile security for organizations deploying Android devices.”
Also, both the companies are working to manage devices equipped with its Android for Work, a suite of tools that help users to seamlessly switch between their personal profile and their phone’s work setting.
Original Design Manufacturers ODMs hope that Blackberry’s high brand image in some markets will boost the sale of these smartphones, especially since being powered by Android OS.
In addition to integrating its BES12 security software into Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop, Blackberry updated its BES12 platform to support the Apple Device Enrollment Program, which simplifies the enrollment of corporate issued iOS devices, and integrated BlackBerry Secure Connect Plus, its solution for secure, behind-the-firewall access to enterprise content without VPN infrastructure, with Android for Work, BlackBerry 10 and Samsung Knox Workplace.
