FREMONT, CA: To make customers desktop more productive, BroadSoft, a provider of unified communication software as a service (UCaaS), integrates its unified communication and collaboration solutions into Microsoft Office 365.

With the help of Microsoft's software developer kits, BroadSoft made BroadWorks, BroadCloud and UC-One compatible with Microsoft Office 365 desktop applications to enable its users to make cloud-based calling by just clicking on any phone number they have in emails, documents, databases, address books and on web pages from within the application.

BroadWorks, is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications platform that enables mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to deliver basic and enhanced voice services for business and residential end users. Using the web, it provides a high-servicing component between the service provider and the customer. For instance, a BroadWorks user can selectively forward calls from an office phone to a cell phone with a few clicks on a web page or wireless personal digital assistant (PDA). Its open environment enables providers as well as third-party service developers to introduce new services and launch new applications.

With the broad portfolio of feature packages, UC applications, and site configurations, VoIP Service Providers can streamline their solution to meet their customer needs. By leveraging BroadCloud’s fully managed services, managing the end-to-end customer sales and service implementation process becomes easier. With control over pricing, branding, and system portals, service providers can cater the solution and user experience to fit their target markets.

BroadCloud supports a Service Provider’s operational processes by providing portals for quoting, ordering and reporting; portals for key account information, site monitoring data and CPE configurations; and portals to manage both user-level and group-level features.

Designed for mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers who offer UC over their Internet Protocol networks, the UC-One service portfolio meets the needs of a wide range of end users starting from cloud-based VoIP and PBX to advanced UCC services including instant messaging and presence, video collaboration, desktop and file sharing, multi-party conferencing, mobile applications and more. With its Instant Messaging and Presence or IM&P, it allows employees to quickly check the present status of coworkers and decide how best to communicate.

UC-One Communicator’s Desktop & File Sharing application allows users to see and share presentations, spreadsheets, and other media from any location across any network and file push capability speeds up workflows and fosters collaboration in the workplace. Its Video Collaboration feature offers multi-party voice and video collaboration to bring remote workers and disparate sites together quickly and easily with one simple click.

"BroadSoft's integration is a great example of how partners can build on the new Office 365 platform to better serve the unique needs of our mutual customers, BroadSoft's innovative business communications solutions are empowering Office 365 customers to become even more productive, wherever they are," says Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president, Microsoft's Developer eXperience & Evangelism (DX) group.
