Bruker's Opterra II Rectifies Live-Cell Imaging Facets to Meet Specific Research Requirements

BILLERICA, MA: Bruker - a manufacturer of scientific instruments and analytical solutions for molecular and material research unveils Opterra II which is based on Bruker’s Multipoint Scanning Confocal Microscopy Technology and Swept-Field Scanner.

Opterra II offers real-time improvement in imaging speed, sensitivity, fluorescence intensity and resolution to develop experimental conditions across an array of life science research areas. It has low photo-toxicity and low photo-bleaching capability that enable time-lapsed volumetric studies even on sensitive specimens, maintaining their natural biological cellular functions as much as possible.
Opterra II blends the resolution of traditional confocal systems with agile wide-field imaging to study live-cells.

Opterra II accommodates one-dimensional pinhole arrays for sharper images with greater depth, automated bypass module for phase and TIRF imaging and helios laser launch system to support five laser lines and more than 10 wavelengths offering stable microscope performance. It also facilitate basic and advanced programming software interface options to fulfill need of peculiar lab settings.

Additionally, Opterra II provides efficient 3D stage montages via Z-stack and quantitative analysis through sub- 10 percent field illumination uniformity. It also features closed loop data communication between Opterra II and external systems.
