FREMONT, CA: Buehler, a manufacturer of scientific equipment, supplies and accessories introduces the new Wilson VH3300 Vickers/ Knoop hardness tester to provide maximum flexibility for automated hardness testing to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the test laboratory during materials and product development in clean production environments and routine quality control.

The new hardness tester features a 6 position test head that can be populated with up to three loadcells & indenters, resulting in a test load range from 5g to 60 kg. Incorporation of the DiaMet Hardness Automation Software provides the User of the VH3300 hardness testers, an efficient and fully automated environment to develop and execute tests that maximize the precision of the tester system with the minimum investment of time possible. It controls the entire system right from setting of test parameters, automated indentation and measuring, acquisition of test data, statistical analysis, data export to speeding up of the test procedure and ensuring high-accuracy acquisition and analysis of test data.

The patent-pending collision protection technology prevents indenter or objective damage by detecting unintended obstructions in the test path. Using the fully automated test program VH3300 can provide the high capacity testing platform capable of performing 150 make and measure indents in an hour. The DiaMet pattern editor allows the user to create any number of patterns with a large number of variables. It shows the operator where the indents will be made even before the actual indent process takes place. Presence of a high-resolution camera digital camera combined with zooming capability provides up to 2000x magnification of the material being tested. The DiaMet automatic illumination function adjusts to the correct illumination level on any sample wherever you need it independent of material type.

The tester is ideal for industries like aerospace, energy, construction and transportation that require durable hardness test system for advanced heat treatment processes.

"We have created the new Wilson VH3300 into a top-notch product in terms of precision, repetition accuracy and user friendliness. This fully automatic Vickers/Knoop hardness test system is capable of meeting virtually any requirement in the area of automated micro hardness testing. This is an example of how Buehler is committed to innovation based on customer feedback," says Marcel van Banning, product manager, Wilson Hardness.
