CA Technologies to Expand DevOps by Acquiring Grid Tools
FREMONT, CA: Grid Tools, a Test Data Management company has been bought by CA Technologies, an independent software corporation to augment their DevOps portfolio thereby delivering an enhanced focus on quality acceleration. Grid-Tools, is specialized in offering enterprise-grade products for streamlining the software testing process.
Being a former partner of CA Technology, this acquisition delivers automated testing of software for faster development and time to market. CA officials specifically points out that time-consuming manual testing and data management have prevented organizations from realizing the true potential of agile development and continuous delivery. With the aid of Grid-Tools products, organizations can cut down these barriers by providing greater coverage, faster creation and repeatable test execution for software assets.
“The combination of CA Technologies and Grid-Tools provides enterprises with a strong option to bring testing to the next level by removing bottlenecks in their software development lifecycle,” says Grid Tools co-founder Huw Price.
Generating synthetic test data, Datamaker the flagship product of Grid Tools, gives a more orchestrated higher quality data when compared with conventional software testing of data. Another complimentary product, Agile Designer, allows designing test cases along with Datamaker which also organizes, centralizes and shares data. The company claims that with the help of the product, it can bring down testing time by 50 percent.

Meanwhile, providing a base for this new venture, CA Technology recently purchased Rally Software, which offers cloud-based systems for managing complex software development projects.
