FREMONT, CA: Certified Security Solutions (CSS) Inc., a provider of secure digital identity and access solutions recently announced a liaison with SAP to provide a platform for the Internet of Things (IoT).

"SAP is leading the industry by co-innovating with its customers and partners to address IoT security challenges,” said Gil Perez, Senior Vice-President, IoT & customer innovation at SAP.  “As our customers' needs and demands are on the rise, we are more committed to IoT security and driving innovation in this space."

The collaboration incorporates CSS’ large-scale public key infrastructure (PKI)-based certificate management security solution together with the SAP HANA Cloud Platform for IoT.

Organizations can now utilize CSS' Verdetto IoT Identity Platform in-tandem with SAP HANA Cloud Platform for IoT.

This symbiosis is expected to offer businesses a protected and scalable cloud solution that fashions and manages digital elements to be used for device authentication, data encryption, and secure communication, according to CSS.

"We see identity as a fundamental piece of the security puzzle,” elucidates Ted Shorter, CTO, CSS. “Our solution empowers companies to use digital certificates to validate the connections between devices to verify that the information generated is legitimate.”

By leveraging the Identity V-Tag technology, The Verdetto IoT Identity Platform assumes an identity for each device. To ensure that enterprise applications and processes are rendered with legitimate data from genuine sources, each device is uniquely tagged by data communication that can be properly acknowledged and authenticated.

CSS also revealed plans to partner with Azeti Networks AG, Check Point Software, and Intel, with the aim of providing consumers with end-to-end and secure IoT solutions.

"These companies are also working to offer unique pieces to help solve security, efficiency, and risk issues related to the evolving IoT security puzzle,” stated Kevin von Keyserling, CEO, CSS. “We look forward to working with these teams to offer customers market-leading business applications that are simple and smart."
