Checkpoint Systems Introduces 'Sense + Respond' solution to the Retail Industry
THOROFARE, NJ: Checkpoint Systems, the designer of merchandise availability solutions for accurate real-time inventory, accelerated replenishment cycle and theft prevention has announced the collaboration with Microsoft. The association will roll out ‘Sense + Respond ‘a cloud-based merchandise visibility solution for retailers by bringing Checkpoint RFID Merchandise Visibility solutions to the cloud, and enhance them by utilizing Microsoft analytical tools.
Sense + Respond solution offers flexibility and fast deployment to retailers in order to gather real-time insights and predictive analytics and allows them to forge informed business decisions. The solution uses Checkpoint Systems’ IoT platform and OAT Foundation Suite, along with Microsoft Azure Cloud Solutions.
OAT Foundation Suite is a middleware platform for two-way process integration between enterprise applications and real-time information from Auto-ID, Wi-Fi, RTLS and GPS inputs. It consists of five components called OATxpress, OATenterprise, OATaxonim, OATdevice manager,and OATdesigner.

The new solution proffers increased customer engagement and conversion across channels through real-time, sensor-enabled shopper insights, integrated with systems of record and business intelligence tools. With the sensor-enabled task management applications, Sense + Respond is able to deliver increased omni-channel fulfillment efficiency, service quality and employee empowerment. In addition, it delivers augmented supply chain agility and optimized last-mile delivery through real-time inventory transparency and order fulfillment process automation. Apart from these capabilities, the solution gives an increased shelf availability in-store with the help of improved inventory tracking and accuracy. Similarly, the solution is enables faster deployment and lowers total cost of ownership through high-performing, cloud-based and hybrid IT architecture solutions. Now, the retailers are empowered with integrated multi-modal sensor data like RFID with their existing system records which offers a view of customer behavior and touch points. With Sense + Respond, Checkpoint will get the space to integrate the IoT data and the powerful machine learning of Microsoft Azure for data mining and predictive analytics capabilities.
