CommVault Launches Backup Appliance with NetApp for Data Protection

TINTON FALLS, NJ: CommVault, a data management solutions provider, announces the availability of CommVault Backup Appliance with NetApp, in which Commvault Simpana software is integrated with NetApp E-Series storage device. This device serves as a purpose-built, pre-configured data protection solution.

CommVault Backup Appliance features global de-duplication for preventing data redundancy during data backup to various de-duplication systems. This can be brought to effective action on a parallel or grid architecture. Parallel de-duplication allows users to combine two de-duplication pools into one which facilitates greater data de-duplication.  This solution also offers software load balancing and failover capabilities and; it also facilitates remote replication for disaster recovery use cases.

CommVault Backup Appliance with NetApp allows: integrated replication; reporting encryption; centralized management; file archiving, source and target de-duplication; in an hour power-up to backup capability; snapshot management, email archiving, tape out, search and eDiscovery. The solution has Simpana software and NetApp’s E-Series 2712 storage integrated in a purpose built backup appliance.

Software, server and storage hardware is available as a single package and, both software and hardware has first-line support. The Appliance contains single node and allows additional appliances addition when infrastructure grows. The solution provides data protection to desktops, laptops, physical and virtual servers used in enterprises.
