Connectivity Solutions for Energy Sector
SAN DIEGO, AK: General Communications, an integrated telecommunications provider has announced its partnership with Novatel Wireless, an IoT (Internet of Things) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions provider. This agreement will allow General Communications to expand its Industrial Telecom product portfolio to help them cater to their energy sector clients.
Novatel Wireless delivers intelligent wireless solutions that simplify IoT and is known for its MiFi family of IoT devices. The company focuses on Telematics (fleet or vehicle management), Telemetry (wireless transmission and reception for remote monitoring) and Security. “Wireless unfolds limitless innovations one can bring to internet of things applications,” says Alex Mashinsky, CEO, Novatel Wireless. Equipped with extensive expertise in IoT integration, Novatel’s solutions will complement General Communications’ Industrial Telecom solutions.
General Communications’ IoT business subscribers include multinational corporations catering to the oil and gas industry, who can seamlessly integrate this bundled version of a rugged and reliable connectivity solution to power their IoT deployments round the clock. “Our agreement with Novatel Wireless expands the General Communications Industrial Telecom portfolio and provides our Energy Sector customers with the peace of mind that their systems will remain connected 24x7,” says Rick Hansen, General Communications’ Sr. Director of Projects and Engineering. The combined solution includes Crossroads SaaS device management along with the specialized HCMI and MRO IoT appliance as it has been designed to be compatible with multiple environments.
