Corporate Wellness Approach for 2019
For many years, corporate well-being has been on the radar of many companies. Now, it is embedded in many corporate cultures. In order to keep their employees engaged, more companies invest in employee wellness programs. These programs can increase productivity, reduce absenteeism, and help to strengthen corporations from the point of view of the market/stockholders.
Today, a company’s focus is on physical, mental, financial, and spiritual health to provide a robust suite of wellness programs. All of these welfare programs are becoming a corporate responsibility and a strategy to drive productivity, commitment, and retention of employees.
The definition of wellness and its needs will vary significantly depending on the culture, vision, goals, and demographics of the company to the employees. Uncovering and understanding the organization's well-being will help create a relevant and tailored program to best support their staff. It is necessary to hire a corporate wellness consultant to evaluate the specific needs of the organization to ensure the greatest impact before implementing or redesigning the wellness program.
However, stress dramatically undermines the performance of the company's team and employees. Stress has been shown to create high blood pressure, fatigue, weight problems, and diabetes, all of which lower levels of energy and hence productivity. With the right program and cultural shift, employees can be empowered to improve and maintain their own health and wellbeing.
Companies should conduct workplace wellness programs, seminars, and workshops for employees. This will help employees reduce the causes of stress by addressing their known causes in the workplace in order to reduce losses from companies. Learning how to be resilient and deal with stress effectively can help employees to be more productive, happier, healthier, and manage difficult situations.
Supporting positive relationships between employees helps build a more productive and cooperative working environment. Emotional intelligence is a valuable tool for both management and front line staff to create collaborative workplaces. It is crucial to building motivated and productive teams to foster trust and mutual respect between staff and leadership. By conducting an intelligence workshop at work, it will be helpful to prepare managers and employees for tomorrow's flexible workplaces by developing their emotional intelligence and leadership skills.
