SEATTLE, WA: Cray supercomputers successfully grab a contract to provide Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS), a global oil-and-gas company, with a Cray XC40 supercomputer and a Cray Sonexion 2000 storage system. PGS, headquartered in Oslo generates high-resolution seismic maps and 3D models of the earth's sub-surface, used by oil and gas companies to investigate and come up with offshore reserves worldwide.
