Widening their partnership field, ECM Records has collaborated with the Universal Music Group for digital streaming of the label’s back catalog. Since its inception in 1969 by Manfred Eicher, ECM Records is known to be one of the best names with a catalog established since five decades and a diverse genre base including contemporary, jazz and classical music. Artists such as Keith Jarrett, Jan Garbarek, Paul Bley, Meredith Monk, and others have worked with the label, and their music will be available now on sites such as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and more.  Deutsche Grammophon, UMGs Yellow Label, will distribute the extensive ECM catalog internationally.

The president of Deutsche Grammophon, Clemens Trautmann, will bring the ECM catalog on board to digital platforms. The company wishes to provide their complete distribution facilities to its artists and make most of the collaboration. ECM’s aim is to have their music heard irrespective of the medium, although their preferred mediums are CD and LP. The original authorship and physical catalog are critical references for ECM. The complete package of the album including the sound quality, sequence, and dramaturgy and its artistic signature are essential parts of the label. Being a renowned label with expertise in jazz and classical music, ECM Records has set its mark in the digital space while also keeping its authenticity intact.
