REDWOOD CITY, CA: With an aim to provide full advantages of hybrid and multi-cloud solutions in a secure and high-performing environment to their customers, Equinix and Rackspace have collaborated with each other.

Under this collaboration, Equinix, an interconnection and data center company, is going to deliver private access to Rackspace cloud hosting services from its International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers across North America. It will also help Equinix in offering direct access to Rackspace’s data centers via direct cross connects, as well as through Equinix Cloud Exchange- the interconnection solution which offers direct access to leading cloud providers from a single port.

Likewise, the collaboration will help Equinix customers to add Rackspace managed cloud hosting services to their hybrid or multi-cloud deployments, which will help them in understanding the benefits of hybrid and multi-cloud solutions.

“Today’s cloud applications require higher performance than ever before. Together with Rackspace, we are making it easier for customers to access and deploy the cloud infrastructure that makes the most sense for them. RackConnect Global inside Equinix will give benefit from access to any cloud provider on the Cloud Exchange, thus making multi-cloud a reality,” says Mark Adams, Chief Development Officer of Equinix.

Key benefits of the collaboration include, direct, private access that offers the performance and reliability of a private cloud with cost benefits of the public cloud; availability on the Equinix Cloud Exchange allows Rackspace to deliver their customers with an agile mix of Rackspace hosted applications, like database replication, along with the ability to design out a multi-cloud strategy via the Exchange’s supported leading cloud service providers.
