Faltcom Enables Trial of Luxury Connected Car Gas Delivery Service in Silicon Valley

FREMONT, CA: Innovative American technology start-up, Filld – a mobile app-based fuel-delivery service – and VW Group’s Electronics Research Laboratory have been successfully running a trial in Silicon Valley for luxury car drivers.

As part of this new collaboration, Fältcom's MIIPS platform connects the car to the Internet, detects fuel consumption, and offers automated refueling via the app from Filld's service car – at a time and place of the owner's choosing. The per-gallon price is based on the lowest of the three closest gas stations to where the car is parked.

This luxury connected car integration means that customers don’t even need to unlock the fuel cap themselves, or identify the car’s exact location, as this is enabled by Fältcom's technology and done for them securely.

The trial has recently concluded with owners in San Francisco and Silicon Valley having run over the summer, and the success of the project is now being evaluated to decide if such a service integration can be offered commercially.
