FREMONT, CA: GE Aviation is geared up to establish a digital organization that would bring all of the digital expertise from across Aviation into one business. Jim Daily will take over this new digital business as the President and Chief Digital Officer, Engineering and Technology for GE Aviation.

GE Aviation, an operating unit of General Electric Company, is one of the world’s leading providers of commercial and military jet engines, components and avionics, digital solutions and electrical power systems for aircraft. GE is transforming the digital industry with software-defined machines and solutions that are connected, responsive and predictive. ‘GE Store,’ a global exchange of knowledge platform, where each business shares and accesses the same technology, markets, structure and intellect, is the locus around which GE Aviation is catalogued. “The GE Aviation Digital organization will be the driving force to achieve aggressive goals for operational value for our customers,” said David Joyce, president & CEO of GE Aviation.

In this effort, GE Aviation Digital is set to form its own division within GE Aviation, backing the customers across the aviation ecosystem by leveraging data science, domain expertise, and software capabilities to increase productivity and minimize down time.

In addition to bringing an enhanced digital capability to the 35,000 engines that GE Aviation monitors every day, GE and its customers are working together to unravel new opportunities to grow and deliver more productivity beyond traditional services. GE is creating industry standards for cloud computing and bolstering customer relations to work on solving their toughest challenges.

To support customers’ operations by region, GE has started their Middle East Aviation Technology Center in Dubai late last year. The advancements in data and analytic technologies at the center are the outcomes of GE’s vision. GE is taking its Predix cloud platform for the Industrial Internet, providing the foundation to create innovative applications that turn real-time operational data into actionable insights.
