GE Introduces New Industrial PC: Enhances the Functionality of Transportation Applications

FREMONT, CA: GE, one of the most reputed Digital Industrial Company launches the new industrial PC (RXi-XR IPC) for transportation applications. The IPC is specifically designed to sustain harsh critical factors such as temperature, shock, vibration and Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC). It efficiently provides a durable and robust solution under rough railway environments. GE's Automation & Controls marks the device suitable for operations in the transportation systems such as monorail, inner city and regional trains.

The RXi-XR IPC is built with compact and reliable MI2 connectors to prevent the couplers from loosening under extreme vibrations. High quality industrial component labels the system as a durable and robust solution. It inhabits a fanless and solid state design, which adds to the perfection of the device in railway transportation applications. The CPU and memory are soldered to the main board giving it adequate protection from shocks and vibrations. The IPC is powered by a patented heat dissipation technology, offering temperatures ranging from -40°C to+ 70°C for stable operation. With reference to the IP67 rating, the dust and moisture proof device ensures the unit to withstand liquid immersions of up to 1 meter.

The RXi-XR IPC houses an Intel Core i7 processor operating at 1.7 GHz or an Intel Celeron processor at 1.4 GHz. Running on the Windows 7 operating system, it offers a RAM of up to 4 GB and a storage memory of 128 GB. The RAM is also equipped with the error-correcting code (ECC) memory making it a lot safer and faster. Analyzing the overall performance and reliability of the IPC, it has been successfully approved by the CE, UL, EN50155 and IP67 standards.
